Jan 16 build here. I got the call from my service guy while I was on the road to COTA.

My dealer called transmissions are available scheduled my replacement for April 25 6/16 prod. they asked me if I wanted to blow it up first or have the transmission replaced upfront. I said I just as well have a done to minimize collateral damage. I’m also going to have them replace the clutch release fork and pressure plate which squeak when they’re hot.. done it since 2000 mi.. I was waiting for the trans replacement to have it done. Carl

Nonsense.. mine was confirmed today, gearbox ordered and will be swapped on Tuesday.

I checked the website but nothing shows. However, dealer says car is on the list, awaiting instructions. March 2016 build.

No call and no recall listed on the recall site for mine. June 2016 build. If I get the call I'm wondering if I should request a delay and let them practice the trans swap on a few other cars first. Don't want to have the guinea pig car.

Happened to see my service manager today (at a coffee shop) and when I asked him he said the recall was just made official in the U.S.
I have requested a gearbox swap ASAP and will follow up with him Monday. He wasn't sure about the time frame on getting the part.
I checked the recall site but nothing was listed for my VIN. March 2016 build. 16,000 miles.

Are only GT4s included in this recall or will Cayman S or GTS get a replacement too? I think I recall some other models also having failure or two.

I sold my first GT4 about a year ago and do not recall the production date, but I am now back in the market and the first dealer I spoke to about a potential GT4 said they got the call and will be swapping out the transmission. I believe it is an 04/16 build.
