What's your build date?

Anyone here received some form of notification for early production dates? Oldest I saw above was 12/15 I believe.

Just called my local dealer. Gave them my VIN and they confirmed recall campaign WJ88 for my car. They can't order the replacement transmission until I bring the car in for inspection. I'm dropping my car off this Friday. The production date of my car is 02/16.

Oh wow! My dealer just ordered the new box and no need for inspection for me. Interesting!

Yeah. They said it was a service dept policy at their store.

I also have a 6/15 build date. I am not expecting it to be part of the campaign but we shall see. I did not even bother to call my dealer who I know is aware of the campaign from a friend's car...

Mine is at the shop as of today. Transmission was in stock, should have it back by Friday/Saturday. My build is 4/16, just over 9k miles. Never had a failure. No pre-inspection required.

Talk to my guy today and got a little info that might be of assistance to some of you guys. So as of right now the cars that have fallen within the build date time frame will get a tranny without issue. With that said no one has the build dates figured out yet. Now here's the news for some......the transmissions are being auto shipped to the dealership where the VIN was purchased......so all of you that purchased away from home might start to call the original dealership and see how to get your unit........Phil

I’m in Florida, called my dealer and they are aware of the recall. They will be calling me back tomorrow to let me know when they will have the gearbox to schedule the swap out. I have a 4/16 build date. They said I was 1 of 4 local people they needed to contact about the fix.

My local dealer confirms that this is generally true.

Although if you have had service at a local dealer, it's possible that Porsche can route the unit from the dealership of original purchase to your local dealer.
I should be hearing back on this later today to confirm.

My SA told me they can get the tranny from Germany with a 1-2 week lead time (possibly sooner if there is one nearby that can be rerouted), and we can do the swap any time since the recall doesn't expire. I have a 2/2016 build with only 2100 miles, so may wait till the end of this track season.

FWIW, my SA is not at the dealership that the vehicle was originally purchased from.

I spoke to my dealer today. My Spyder is not covered by this recall. The two cars use the same transmission.

Just confirmed with my SA at my local dealer that the work can be performed by them, and not where I originally bought the car from.

+1

I talked to my local SA and confirmed my VIN is eligible for the recall. They are ordering the transmission. I made an appointment and am bringing my car in to Porsche North Houston in a week. I bought my car from a dealer in Las Vegas.
