strut tower failure

Update on my GT4 strut tower failure. I had the dealer's service manager inspect my GT4's front passenger strut tower failure on April 18th. He sent me to a local auto body Porsche specialist for an estimate. After 3-weeks, service manager informed me that PCNA would not cover the repairs under warranty. He gave me the number for PCNA customer service to appeal the decision. Spoke with customer service rep twice before she confirmed that PCNA would not cover the repairs under warranty. The reason given was that the failure was not caused by a manufacturing defect. Unfortunately, the rep was not a decision maker so my arguments fell on deaf ears. She would not allow me to speak to any of her superiors or technical advisors. My service manager then followed up with PCNA on my behalf again and was told the same thing. Still frustrated as ever and now considering a class action suit against PCNA. Checked GT4 strut tower failure database recently and counted 7 listings but only 4 confirmed and all failures resulting from impact which is different from my case where I can only attribute it to regular track use - also mentioned as a contributing factor to the warranty denial by PCNA's customer rep by-the-way. I guess Porsche only says that their GT cars are designed for track use when in fact they are not.

Sums it up. I know dozens of GT3/4 owners and don’t know anyone with a failure. I’ve put 7000 miles on my GT4 including 1500 track miles this year. I haven’t worried once about the strut towers. I feel like the people freaking out about this are mostly ‘speculative’ gt4 buyers at this point. Most current owners have accepted this exists and have moved on. That’s what insurance is for right?

You’re the only person whose failure seemed to be cause by not hitting something. I’m still pretty skeptical of the circumstances in your incident. I wasn’t there but the claim your car failed under heavy braking seems dubious at best. Not saying you’re lying, but there has to be more to this story.

Very polite way of telling someone you think they are lying. Nicely done.
Personally I have no reason not to believe him, especially with the history of these failures. There is a guy who hit what he described as a very slight seam on a freeway that resulted in a failure. Not sure this gentleman's story is inconsistent with some that I have read. Fact is these cars are way too fragile.

Car drives great, no question. Hard to find another car out there that has dedicated threads for strut tower failures so I decided to not go the GT4 route but I just bought a 718 Cayman S.
Hope Porsche steps up and addresses these failures because they are unfortunate.
