You'll run a better time with RE71Rs than the Cup2s and 19s.
Check your PM, let's exchange Solo DL files. I want to see how we compare through all of the turns. You should come down to Buttonwillow in Nov for Matt's private days and PCA SDR right after that. We could do a lot of dicing.

I ran 2:01 on re71r two other times, but it was in 110F temps. Give me some cooler weather and I can do better. Hot weather seems to follow me everywhere, though. Lol
Emailed you back. Would be fun to run on track with you!

Update on my best COTA lap: 231.48 on 09/03/2016 with Chin.

That wasn't luck, man.. nice driving! That is the first sub 2:30 in a GT4 not on hoosiers I have heard of.

Anyway, I have a theory after talking to the guys this weekend that the RE71's hold up better in terms of heat compared to the R7's. My guess is that the RE71's is, for most, about 2 secs faster than the cup 2's at COTA, with a fresh set of R7's giving you another 2 secs. BUT, looking at my data, after 8 cycles in the heat on my R7's my lap times start dropping noticeably. I would venture to speculate that at this point (around 8 cycles) the R7's seem to lose their advantage compared to the RE71's, while the RE71's seem to be able to take the pounding in the heat better. Just my speculation. I wish I could test this myself, but I would need two sets of 19 wheels, which I don't have :-(

I figured that I would post up, since I haven't seen completely stock GT4 times on CotA.
My ~7000 mile OEM Dunlops were ending their life, so I decided to properly put them out to pasture with a Chin track day at CotA, my second day driving at CotA ever.
The car is completely stock, with street alignment of 1.8F/1.3R... and the quickly fading Dunlops, sway bars set to medium front and rear. The high temp in the afternoon was about 95 and humid, and I was giving passenger rides to a few interested parties.
After the higher temps in the afternoon kicked in, the track cleared a little, and I got a semi-clean lap with some traffic and a passenger at 2:36.88. In retrospect, I probably would have preferred to have the front sway bar on soft for a little more grip and negate some of the understeer in corners... but it wasn't bad as you can "creatively" rotate the car with load transfer and trail braking.
That time won't win any awards, but I wanted to add a CotA data point for completely stock car as it comes from the showroom floor. I will likely make suspension additions, RE71R tires, and other adjustments from here, so it was nice to go out for a day and get a completely stock baseline. My "virtual" best time was about .5 seconds faster... so there's a little more to lose in there somewhere with more consistent conditions, and better track knowledge.
Interestingly, as the day wore on and the track cleared even more, my last 4 laps of the day with minimal traffic, a 185lb passenger and occasional light rain were ALL 2:37.## laps within half a second of each other. So I ended the day consistent, if nothing else... but definitely down on power, as my top speed was down 4 mph on the long straight.
And no doubt, congrats to Josh on the sub-2:30 lap on street Re71r... a great time!

Hi Matt. New fast lap for me at NJMP Lightning on Sept 2, 2016.
1:13.36
Added TPC rear toe links since last time. Stock otherwise with (still) the bald MPSC2s (~35 heat cycles).

It was so great putting all the names to faces at COTA. It definitely feels like we have a brotherhood here on rennlist!
Updated parts - switched fabspeed sport headers for race headers. New top hats from tarett to get to 9.7 caster. 305/285 re71 compared to 285/245. Sway bar - R middle / F full soft
Got lucky and somehow managed a 2:29.82.
I literally yelled in excitement once i saw the lap time! Lap times started to deteriorate toward end of day bc of tires. The brand new RE71s are almost toast! They basically looked like slicks at end of day. Don't know what i'm going to do about this b/c only 2 days is ridiculous. Maybe its just my inexperience.
Tires were a huge issue for me. Car never really felt as stable compared to my 285/245 setup. I believe i will be going back to this.
I believe with the correct tires - 285/245 i have at least another second, and plus if i can fix the most important issue....the driver I can get probably another second as well. This car is fast boys! I think with right temperature and the stars aligned i think 2:26 is not out of the cards. My theoretical best is in the 2:28s.
Till next time. I believe my next event will be BMW in Nov - 3 days :evil grin:
I can post video later if people are interested. Have lots of good footage of all the super trofeo lambos and mclarens giving way to the mighty gt4!

Add me to the Buttonwillow list...I ran a 1:57.5 on the 13CW config and ran a 2:02.1 on the 1CW config earlier this year with RE71Rs.

Great times at Buttonwillow. That would put you as the fast lap for each config - and according to the by-laws of this thread, it requires that you post a video or screen shot of your timer when you are the fastest lap.

Totally unofficial. But a friend timed me at 2:15. Something at Watkins Glen 9/6. My Harry's didn't start right so I have no documentation. Totally stock from the dealer except pagid yellow brake pads and Wildwood brake fluid. Not quite as fast as the Indy cars the day before>. . Dunlop tires.
