I agree, but you can sort of see a wall in the distance there which dominated my thoughts and caused me to panic off throttle. If I had kept my foot in it some, the off probably would've been bigger, but maybe no tank slapper. Gotta love those understeer moments where you realize how screwed you are at the last second.
No doubt and I know exactly what you are talking about!

I was thinking T8 and T13. I hear you regarding T3 but I believe carrying more entry momentum in T2 and all the way around would help 3rd gear work better. Remember, as long as your wheel is turned, you're scrubbing speed...most people over brake for T2

I'll give it a try, thanks! Does my line look ok for T2?

Yeah. There are lots of lines there. When I am on a flyer, I carry so much momentum (hopefully) through T1 that I am unable to get the car left for T2, and thus gently brake in a straight line nearly along the right side of the track. But this is neither right nor wrong, just another way. Complicating the area between 2 and 3 is that little swale in the track surface about mid track that can really upset the back end of the car when on hard power.

Ok, i'll play with it and see if I can improve through that section. T1 is scary due to that wall that bites back on the left so I over-brake some there for sure.

Has anyone run the 2 Mile ThunderHill configuration that Randy Pobst just blitzed in the base 991.2?
Am curious what owners are putting down in their Gt4s as compared to a pro driver in a 991.2.

For reference:

The key for T1, to make it faster AND safer, is to be on some positive throttle as soon as possible, preferably at turn in. Without doing that, the mass of the car is pretty much on the RF tire...which unweights the rear...which causes spins that end up at the inside wall. Positive throttle balances the car, so the weight is shared by the RF, RR, and LR tire mostly, which reduces the chance for oversteer there. Plus it's faster!

Thanks, I am way late on throttle for T1.

Not me, but my friend gave me permission to post. He is a low key guy and doesn't post often.

This was at Watkins Glen earlier in July:
2:08:86 Data taken with AIM Solo and GoPro with Dashware to overlay.

Car has 19" OZ wheels 11" rears with track alignment, Tarret toe links and front tie rods, and Hosier R7s

Terry if you get the aftermarket toe links you can also fit the OZ 19X11 et 50 in the rear.

WG Fast Laps
That is smokin'! Hoosiers should be good for a few seconds a lap, but that is still damn fast.

After taking a 5 year break (I thought it was only 4, but I looked it up tonight... March 2011 was the last time I was on track). I ran Summit Point Main this weekend for the first time. Squeezed out a 1:27:96. Not quick by any means but I'm pleased with it considering I lifted before I hit the start/finish lap line - I saw the checker waving, didn't realize I was setting a PB. I'll have to dig thru the data in circuit tools next.

So much fun being out there and meeting fellow enthusiasts. Looking forward to whittling it down over time. Chris's time is inspirational; He is consistently fast!

Got you posted on the board, Tony.

Tell me, what method did you use to export your Track Precision App video?

I can answer that Matt, its QuickTime record, We (many on the forum) mentioned this many times way back as an easy way of getting track app film to youtube.

I rather like this angle ....on the iPhone when filming. Here I film with my iPhone6 s. Its more nice to see driver involvolment I think.
