Set a new personal best on NJMP Thunderbolt of 1:30.76 today (3/4 of a sec faster that my prior fastest) while following a 991 GT3. Stock GT4, track alignment and brand new 20" RE71s.

I posted the four laps leading up to the fast lap below -- had a great time chasing a 991 GT3.

Hello Nagata-San, and welcome to this thread. Thank you for posting. We do ask that you also post a picture or video of your track timer. Is that possible?

Thank you!

John Sopa, Great drive at T-Bolt. A car in front of me that I think I'm catching always reduces my lap time. I'm heading down to NJMP with Schattenbaum next week, studying your video. Bill

Nice lap Bill!

Was this with Niagara PCA last monday-tuesday?
I wanted to go but couldn't get off work!

I think that was a buddy of mine in the C7Z06 you passed after the toe...I will not let him forget that, as he loves to give me grief for selling my ZR1 for a GT4!!!

What size Hoosiers are you running again? 235 or 265 F and rears are 295/35?

Also, what camber are you running?

I won't be getting to the Glen in the GT4 until next spring (just got it two weeks ago), but plan on both Niagara May & June events

Only had time for two quick sessions, but I wanted to try out the new TPC rear toe links and I also changed the front springs to 392 lb, all else stayed the same. Very first session, I set a new PB of 2:00.57 despite oil down on T4 that I lifted/offline on and T8 pavement was ground down into a slippery mess for repair.

The car felt far better than it ever has and the springs also played a roll in that. Dive and stability on turn in were far better and the TPC (big thanks to Jordan and Tom) links drastically reduced the wag under full brake. The best praise I can give is the car feels very easy to drive now. There is still some exit understeer, but it turns in nicely and feels well-balanced. RE71's felt great this time out and pb was on lap 9 at the end of the session. I didn't even have time to mess with pressures much, they are a great tire.

Video is below, I wanted to break 2 min and saw it on predictive data but it didn't happen. Something to shoot for next year.

Setup: 2.3 camber f/1.8 rear, TPC rear links, DSC, 392lb F springs, OZ 19 with RE71R

Yes, I was with Niagara. The tires are 235/35 x 19 F and 295/30 x 19 R on OZ 8-1/2 and 10" wheels. No issues with fit. -2.8 F and -2.4 R camber.

Martin,
Do you happen to have any video of a clean lap at Buttonwillow in the GT4? The few GT4 videos I saw on Youtube either had a poor camera angle or did not have good driving lines (no offense, not that I can drive any faster).

Fight on.

Spyerx helped me install a SmartyCam in my GT4 this weekend along with hardwiring the AIM Solo DL. I'll have some video from this weekend at Chuckwalla with PCA San Diego. I'll be out at Buttonwillow in early Nov.

Here's video of one of the guys that I was with at the Speed District BW day in late Sept where he is chasing me in his 996 GT3.

2:47.05 at Spa-Francorchamps

Cup2 tires, stock alignment

Tire pressures - 2.0/2.3 bar F/R (29/33psi)

It was my first time at that epic track and only got half a day of dry running but still very happy with the result. Some earlier throttle, more kerb use, better line through Eau Rouge and I can see myself shaving a second or two from that time.

Anyone who has a chance to drive at Spa should do it. No words or video do it justice. It's legendary for a reason.
