Did Barcelona / Catalunya last Monday / Tuesday, did 2.14ish rounds in the end. Not sure where that puts me, but it was a hell lot of fun doing 300 miles / 500km in the car on track.
Shaved 2s for a new PB today at Summit. 1.25.94. Mods unchanged from previous time (1st weekend at Summit). Still lots to improve upon to get to Chris's and Bill's time. Tires: Dunlops. F soft and -2.5. Rear stiff -1.5.
Huge congrats on your PB at both Sonoma and Laguna. I set my lap time goals by Orthojoe + 2.5 seconds/minute currently and hope to work from there. Sounds like it's time for you to set another time at Thill
What are your sway bars at nowadays?
Also, have you compared your section time from, say the braking zone of 2 until the braking zone of 3, at Laguna, with Randy Pobst? He double apexes it and it would be interesting to see the difference.

Thanks, man!
Yes, I'm ready to head back to thill. I've never been satisfied with my lap time there. It's been hard to find a 3 mile day that works, but I've got 11/18 marked on my calendar as THE day to do it. If I fail, I've got 12/10.
Sway bars are still soft front and stiff rear
Summit Point Main Track, WV - First weekend with the suspension mods which include; LCA monoballs, caster pucks, TPC rear toe arms, drop links, tie rod ends, front adj caster arm (anti-dive bar), DSC box... alignment -2.8F/-3.0R camber, 10 degrees castor in front (yes 10 degrees), 265/295 hoosiers, ride height lowered 10mm, corner balanced.
Under steer is gone, car felt unbelievably neutral. After over 100 laps the tiers are wearing even in the back and in the front slightly more wear on the outer shoulder.
Best lap was my 12th on day one at 1.21.32, with consistent low 1.22/high 1.21's all weekend. There is at least another 1 or 2 seconds in the car, the nut behind the wheel just needs more time.

Reason: Clarification
Myles, great lap. I'm curious about your camber settings, most Caymans run about .5 more negative F then R. Does the DSC box really help? Did you need a lot of R toe with the TPC toe links? For reference, my best time in the 987.1 was 1:23.234.

Thanks for the detailed report.
Did TPC do all the work? I know that they're quite happy with their GT4 with their mods, and they report that the difference in handling and lap time compared to stock is substantial.
IIRC, Pobst did about 1:20 flat in the GT4 at SP with TPC mods and I presume Cup 2, so the limit should be around 1:18 with Hoosiers. But that's Pobst, and your 1:21.32 is moving along quite well!
Bill - Rear camber settings were driven by the need to fit the 19X11's with 295 Hoosier R7's under the fenders after lowering, alignment and corner balance. -3.0 degrees allows the wheel to tuck up under the fender as it moves up under load. My original goal was to keep camber between -2.5 and -2.8 all around to help tire wear while driving on the street. I do think that the DSC box helps keep the car form diving and leaning. However, I only drove the car for one session at Lightning with everything stock, then changed out the stock controller for the DSC. It made a noticeable difference then. I'd need to do a back to back test with the new suspension setup to quantify the difference now.
Manifold - I put all of the suspension parts on the car myself and then let Mike, at Vintage Motorsports in Malvern PA, work his magic to corner balance, lower and align the car. I'm very happy with the results.
As far as best possible times at Summit Point, it should be noted that a Boxster GTS on Hoosiers ran a 1.20.5 at the event. I'll need more time with the GT4 to get confident with the car's awesome capabilities. I've been driving a 964 since 2001 (2,800 lbs, full cage, big brakes, 300 HP, etc).
I did new PB at Thunderbolt (1:32.73) and Lightning (1:15.40) last week. You Tube processing is being uncooperative so here's screenshots. 12 and 15 HC on Hoosiers.

Got me curious so I looked up the article: mods are tpc toe link kit and the DSC controller. 1.20 on oem tires and with a passenger.
Myles and Bill, do you have your fast laps on YouTube? I've watched Chris's a few times looking for where I can improve. I've done a total of 4 days at Summit, still so much to learn. I dropped 2 seconds between my first and second weekend dipping into upper 1.25s on the dunlops. I'll be super happy if I can break into the 1.24s next time out.
