Best Track Times in a GT4

That is a FLYING lap if stock power!
Agree - a stock powered, stock aero 981 can't get to 2:02 on spec Cup2s and keep 2 tires on track surface at all times. Possible on new hoosiers I think!
GT3 seems to break the laws of physics compared to my old GT4. GT4 is more of an "honest" track car. GT3 has magic dust sprinkled all over it.

Yes, I listed the mods below the video. I have just the track basics on there effectively. I've modded my last two BMW track cars (E90 M3, M2 comp), I wanted to see what this car can do with minor tweaking as it starts at a much higher level. I also got the car CPO so wanted to leave the drive train stock. Ironically this led me to crack one of the stock headers at NJMP earlier in the year, which melted a load of stuff underneath the car (bushings, vaccum lines etc.). Car had been at Porsche for 2+ months before this getting fixed, they covered it all no questions asked. Now my CPO is done I will probably get race headers/tune for next season. My car is also PCCB converted, I'd like to move to 19's to get 265's up front so may need to look at changing the brakes also. Reading Mvez thread also makes me want Clubsports, although the shop I use loves MCS. I had MCS on my M2, didn't feel they lived up to the hype compared to something like an Ohlins R&T but lets see.
I think in this stock config the car has a 2:04.XX in it. Putting Hoosiers on is probably worth 2 seconds so I agree a 2:02.XX could be possible. Although the stock suspension is already soft not sure how well it would take to stickier rubber.
I'm envious of you guys with the GT3's, all that power on exit must be addicting

if you look back at the original post, someone did a 2:03.8 at VIR on Cup2s on a basically stock suspension. VIR and WG turn nearly identical laptimes. So a 2:03 can definitely be done and I still say on a 50 degree sunny day on new tires, a high 2:02 is very possible.

Based on this thread looking at what people have actually done, the best is a 2:03.3 on slicks in a car with gutted interior, suspension etc. If someone out there really is 3 seconds quicker than me in a stock GT4 i'd love to see how they are doing it so I can get faster!

VIR lap times are broadly comparable, but generally slightly lower. For example the same guy who is the top of WGI and VIR (on slicks, with no interior, suspension etc.), is 2 seconds slower on WGI.

Other thing to consider is that if no one has done "a time" on a stock car in the last 7 years, unlikely we'll see it. Highly unlikely there are many "stock" 981s off warranty floating around right now. 981 Clubsports are 4-5 seconds faster than a stock 981 on hoosiers at most tracks.

Yup, VIR is a very different track, higher speeds and will reward different things. WGI is flow and precision and some time to stop seeing the walls. There is less flow at VIR and more brute force bravery that's needed to go fast. A 2 flat in a stock car on hoosiers is easy (I did that in the first weekend ever there), and probably a 57-58 with the right brass ballast or on true slicks like everyone seems to be running (hoosier is not in that category).

I have never don e CW but really enjoy CCW, especially with repaved track. I have a "aggressive" street alignment. All stock parts and I have maxed out my front camber at about -1.5

I currently follow both because people don't always know where to post, but my emphasis is on the 718 GT4 list. I think it will attract more posts as time goes on. I only wish the summary page was updated.
