Do headers work with the Sports Exhaust System? Do you still have the normal and sports modes?

Would love to hear your thoughts once you get the tune and headers done.

Yes - the headers replace the existing manifolds, but not the sports exhaust which will continue to function as it did before. Should provide an easy way to modulate the noise if the headers significantly increase the sound. Feedback from others indicates the sports headers only increase volume by about 25% which sounds about perfect to me.

Will for sure share my thoughts once they are fitted with the tune.

Mine was done completely through Porsche Centre Brighton. Was $2300 inc. I know the deal through Shane which Chris got was $2,000 but you had to get the car out to Sunshine (I'm down in Aspendale).

I'm heading out with the Otium guys on Sunday for a run up to Macedon. We are meeting at the Lorbek Carpark in Port Melbourne at around 10am (cruise leaves around 10:45 but I'll be there from 10ish). It's a good spot to meet - it was where I was going to suggest we meet if we wanted to do a GT4 meet-up as well. Happy to show you the wrap job there on Sunday morning.

(Will be good general car **** as well. I think 80+ supercars are registered for the cruise).
Thanks, that's a good price, I'll look into it.
Lol...80 cars, there might be a few more now that this publicly posted on here. I'll swing past at 10am this Sunday, I'll be coming in a silver 996 Turbo coupe. I think from memory you have a blue GT4, is that correct?
Oh, they call me Jim by the way, I know it's a bit confusing as my forum name is james, but they wont let you change it, stuck for life.

I should be good for the 26th June but wont have my GT4 then.

EDIT; I know some nice twisty roads through to the east, I'm happy to lead if you're interested in an early start and finish, say meet at 7am in Doncaster and can come back as early as 11am or even stretch it out further.
Anyone on here is welcome, Ideally up to 8 or 9 cars usually works well.

Definitely looking forward to a review. The headers were something I was interested in, so hearing your thoughts would be great.

I have the CG sport header on.
The USA ones will fit but there is a fitment issue, so you need to tell them you will require the one to match your existing header part numbers.
I got mine from BGB.

Snowman, thanks for posting about the wrap organised by PCB, I'll be talking to them about this. $2300 seems like a good price (I had my Ducati 1098R done and love the wrap!)

Bardman, keep us updated on the CG headers and tune from Evolve Technik. I've been looking at my options - straight COBB Accessport tune; Fabspeed 450 package (tempting, very tempting, and John Gaydos is a very, very cool guy.... but having to import and finding someone to install is well mmmm and.... warranty...!), or Evolve Technik (left a message with them and no reply .... hmmm.... and again.... warranty....!)

Leong72, thanks mate, tracking the ship online is killing me!

FWIW - I ended up getting my wrap done through PCB. Price was essentially the same as Shane quoted - was the full bonnet, front bars A pillar, headlights, mirror etc job - but meant not having to go out to Sunshine (they did it during a service I had done after doing 4 track days - they had the car for 2 days). As far as I can see the job is perfect too.

Also interesting - I have 2 mates who in the last month have placed orders for GT4's. Both getting September deliveries. I remember PCM telling me in March 2015 I couldn't get one! Thankfully PCB said I could (and I mean thankfully - I love this car. Looking forwards to taking it out for a cruise this weekend, and doing another track day on the 18th!)
Hi Snowy,

Just catching up with this sorry. Yes we absolutely must catch up. Will give you a call in the next week and see what we can do.
Good price on your wrap. It was Sunbury to get it done so even further than Sunshine and one of the reasons I haven't managed to get mine rectified as I just haven't had the time to get the car out there and back.

Speak soon
Chris

Sounds good Chris.

Jim - good to meet you on Sunday.

Christian from Evolve was there on Sunday too. Interestingly he said the headers - even with the additional tune - would not void the warranty. I figured the headers alone wouldn't, but that tune would, but he claims otherwise.

Also interesting to hear on the weekend that PCM have 2x GT4 allocations available for Sept deliveries incase anyone knows someone who is looking for one.

Yes good to meet you too.

Your car sounds amazing, I would not want mine any louder than that, its just perfect. That blue looks gorgeous in the flesh.

Super surprised regaring tune not affecting warranty, this doesn't sound right. I'm sure Porsche would not approve of it, I'd want it in writing if they did, you know they can always tell if it has been flashed.

Big turn out just as you mentioned, how was the drive with that large group of eye candy.

Here are some pics of the meeting point, if you dont want your pic posted, just let me know and I'll remove it.

This was less than half of the cars.

A flash tune would invalidate warranty if something went wrong mechanically such as an over-rev. Headers would do too.

From my experience certainly when it gets to extended warranty, the dealers want the car back to factory specs, even down to the N rated tyres before they approve it. They have to take photos of the car to send to PCA too.

Thank you for the kind words, they are much appreciated You know i'll take care of you as much I can on importing the package, and the install really isn't that bad. Heck if you comp the flight i'll fly out there and we will do it over a weekend together

Hi Chris - what about catching up with a few of us on June 26?

At combined WOT and high rpms its plenty loud, but it could use a little boost at lower rpms.

Evolve / PP-Performance (who they get their tunes from) actually offer a 12 month warranty on your engine with the tune (albeit limited to $15k or something like that).

In any case, I actually don't think there is an such thing as "voiding" your warranty. If you make a claim and you have after aftermarket add ons, the onus is on the manufacturer to prove that the add on caused the damage if they want to dispute the claim. However, if it did end up in a courtroom you have lost already (through your lost time and money) so I think its a decision that each individual has to make based on their risk profile.
