718 GT4?

If a dealer build a list for an RS and people skip the regular GT4 they are going to have a lot of very unhappy customers if it never happens...if you want my advise, get on the GT4 list as the chances of the RS making it to production are very slim....

That would explain their response. I'm already on the list so I should be fine. Hoping they come out with the RS before I get my gt4 order in.

If they actually build an RS for the GT4 it will likely be extremely limited. I’m still puzzled how they would fit this into the model lineup without encroaching on the GT3 unless its a limited production one off model like the 911r. I just can’t see them having any variant of the GT4 outperform a GT3 even if it’s an RS.

A GT4RS or some sort had been running at Weissach for the better part of a year and change.
It is not yet approved. I just said it will be very likely and one that I would take perhaps even over a GT3RS, simply for the advantage in handling from a mid engine car.
When something doesn't have approval, it does't quite exist does it?

I suppose this depends on whether at heart Porsche is a marketing company or and engineering company. If the former, then I suppose protecting GT3 buyers wins, and the GT4 RS never happens. But for me the evidence (919 evo, e.g.) says that engineering still drives the firm, and that because it does, the GT4 RS will exist, if only in limited numbers, to showcase, once and for all, the Cayman's true potential.
The Marketing side however, is pretty much a mess.
Look no farther than what they decided to name the Mission E as. Taycan. Enough said.
