No difference in 991.2 (both 9k), but 991.1 RS was either 8,600 or 8,800 depending on gear

I think many of you run modified GT4. From things I measured, with a stock car, max power is "really" around 7200 rpm, max rev is 7600 rpm. With a BGB stage 1, max power is reached at 7550 rpm (seen on dyno) and rev limiter is at 8000 rpm. My GT4 actually screams often around those rpm . Nothing impossible with 3.8 engine. The real question is : where is this damn new GT4?

0. You can look up all the tech specs on Porche's website for all current cars, FYI.

https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/9...turesandspecs/

This would be a massive departure from that if the GT4RS was a thing. RS was always within a couple hundred RPM iirc. Generally though it's been an engine mapping exercise.

That was good. Makes sense that it gets 420 horses.

Man, do you write all those riddles yourself Whoopsy or do you have a full line up of Porsche PR coaching you. Those are impressive! I love it.

Potential max RPM of any NA DFI Porsche (997.2/987.2/991.1/981.1) is 8160 RPM. The stock RPM limit is 7800 for the 991/981 cars. This is one of the many reasons we did not pursue ever trying to shove the GT3 motor in the car; the factory ECU cannot be reflashed to spin higher unless you completely remove the RPM limit. This is why some of us opted to make a 4.0L with the existing engine & Siemens SDI ECU that does NOT run in the 991.1 GT3.

Man did I have to play some catch up haha. Whoopsy my hero! I particularly like your last statement, we noticed that after seeing some choice photos of a replacement RSR tub.

If Porsche were to release the RS version with a more potent engine wouldn't it make more sense to use that to homologate the CS? Would that not make the better race car? Or would there be some reason or benefit to base it on the standard GT4?
