718 GT4?

I think many of you run modified GT4. From things I measured, with a stock car, max power is "really" around 7200 rpm, max rev is 7600 rpm. With a BGB stage 1, max power is reached at 7550 rpm (seen on dyno) and rev limiter is at 8000 rpm. My GT4 actually screams often around those rpm . Nothing impossible with 3.8 engine. The real question is : where is this damn new GT4?

This would be a massive departure from that if the GT4RS was a thing. RS was always within a couple hundred RPM iirc. Generally though it's been an engine mapping exercise.

Potential max RPM of any NA DFI Porsche (997.2/987.2/991.1/981.1) is 8160 RPM. The stock RPM limit is 7800 for the 991/981 cars. This is one of the many reasons we did not pursue ever trying to shove the GT3 motor in the car; the factory ECU cannot be reflashed to spin higher unless you completely remove the RPM limit. This is why some of us opted to make a 4.0L with the existing engine & Siemens SDI ECU that does NOT run in the 991.1 GT3.

If Porsche were to release the RS version with a more potent engine wouldn't it make more sense to use that to homologate the CS? Would that not make the better race car? Or would there be some reason or benefit to base it on the standard GT4?
