It’s a false equivalency and totally disingenuous to say that. Please stop. All posts with rude name calling will simply be deleted. Consider yourself warned
To be clear, I didn’t single out any poster as a Neanderthal. Instead, I characterized those who would misrepresent (or lie) about EV information, as Neanderthals. And I stand by that statement.

As far as differentiating between what i said, and others have said - Disagree. In some circles, and most of us know who they are…., calling someone a leftist, a Socialist, or a Communist, is akin to labeling someone as anti-American. How about calling someone a “troll”? That was used on this thread. But we could debate what constitute “derogatory” language all day long, and would be a waste of time….so your biased response carries no merit to me.

But I promise to refrain from defamatory characterizations, both groups and individuals, so long as other’s do the same. But only if…

In the meantime, feel free to block or delete my account if you feel the urge?. It doesn’t matter to me, in the least, as I now rarely visit Rennlist…there are better (for information and closely moderated) forums that now capture my clicks. As a Rennlist member for 4 years, I’ve posted a lot, and had the occasion to contact a moderator about another posters “derogatory”, or personal attacks…only to fall on deaf ears. So, I stopped reporting such occurances, years ago. I see how the game is played….

This is the biggest misconception about EVs.
It seems pretty intuitive to me,

EV's are more energy efficient than their ICE equiv.

Power plants are more efficient at turning FFs into energy than the ICE in a car is.

Electricity is more efficient to deliver to end users than gasoline.

So where is the misconception?

Anyone thinking EVs are not the future of transportation are simply deluding themselves. Yes, you will be able to buy ICE automobiles with manual transmissions, just as you can still a manual-wind chronograph from Rolex. Meanwhile most everyone else will be driving EVs, and just about everyone else is wearing Apple Watches.

Meanwhile EVs will continue to get lighter and more efficient, battery tech will improve and infrastructure will be built out until only those who wear Rolexes will be able to afford their ICE machines with manual transmissions. And life will go on and the older generation who grew up on ICE machines will die off and we'll all be OK. I love my Taycan as my daily driver. I look forward to buying a used manual boxster spyder when I have room for a third car. It's all OK and nobody should be threatened by any of it or have their blood pressure raised.

I’ll take that bet any day of the week. Most everyone will not be driving EV’s without it being completely forced upon us by the government. Apple Watches and iPhones, and the subsequent assimilation/implementation of those technologies, are not the same as implementing EV’s countrywide. Your Minority Report dreamscape won’t see fruition as long as we, as American citizens, have the freedom of choice.

I was joking with my wife about how it would be funny if time did that flat circle thing, and we all started riding around on Robot Horses.

Right. It's just the American government that's "forcing" the choice on you, while you continue to drive your internal combustion engine vehicle wherever the hell you want. It's not like every other government in the world isn't also incentivizing EVs, recognizing the terrible impact that the mass consumption of carbon-based fuels has had on our globe collectively. Go back to your tinfoil hat and your Alex Jones.

Most of us here I am sure would agree with every bit of this.
What comes into question is urgent need for this transition when the nation is clearly not even close to being able to accomodate 50 or a hundred million EVs. It will happen when the stars align with battery tech, an enormous change in infrstructure, as well as consumer acceptance and desire to own an EV and of course a convenient means of recharging for all. Unfortunately we are a long, long, way from any of that in the macro sense. Let it play out and it will evolve if it is going to happen. Absolutely no sense for any government using an iron fist to shove these vehicles down anyones throat in the meantime.
If this common sense approach qualifies me for the Neanderthal Club of America then make me a member in good standing.

I don't get why people think you are on the right or conservative if you don't think EVs are the answer? Why am I immediately labeled as something I'm not. I guess there aren't many independent thinkers left, just mostly lemmings? And I'm not hating on anyone, just genuinely baffled as to how that type of thinking even comes about.

You’re absolutely right. Both critical and independent thinkers are more rare than common these days. People, en mass, like to be controlled. There’s a psychology about it and we have seen that movie play out quite a bit over the last 4 years.

I once had a policy of moving ICE vs EV threads to “General Porsche discussions” and I am going to start doing that again. This is the 992 forum, specifically about this model of Porsche. Nothing more.

That's one way of killing a conversation on Rennlist. Careful over-policing the forum.

LOL, there are some here as you have seen that would go much further than a political label and categorize you as a "Neanderthal" based on what they determine is your limited mentality for not following their chosen Pied Piper.
