New EV 718 Pix
Saw this online and want to share. Also posted in the 981 forum. If this is what its going to look like in real life, not bad. Much more angular then today's lines.

I actually like the looks of the 718E or whatever they decide to call it. All except the area below the front license plate, which I hope will not survive. Speaking of not surviving, I don’t think the EV craze will last more than 10 years. All it will take is a few large companies to say no, we aren’t going EV. Which USPS did just recently. Am I one of those flat earth people or able to see the big picture to do with ecology, economy, feasibility and future ability to source and supply all that’s needed for my grandchildren’s world? Time will tell.

New Porsche EV vehicles delayed!
So with the great news that the Premium Platform Electric vehicles, that include the Cayman and Boxster, is delayed. I hope that the production of ICE 982 cars will continue for a bit longer.
I'm also hoping that translates into more allocations for the GT4/Spyder/RS.

With Euro7 supposedly getting watered down for passenger cars, combined with the delays and soaring EV material costs, I can see a business case for a pivot. The 4.0 seems to be loved by Porsche's enthusiasts. Why not sell it until 2030 if you can and charge a premium for it.
I'd like to see them trot out a lightly updated 982 with a 992ish interior, maybe slap a lightbar across the back. When the EV is ready in say MY27, introduce them as top trim 718 Turbo/Turbo S models. As EV materials drop, launch a GTS in MY29, and a base and S in MY30.
That said, the style editions make me think they will just milk out the 982 for MY24 and maybe MY25 now and launch the delayed EV as MY26.

It was a warning in the IPO prospectus. Was reported on as a minor mention in Macan delay articles.

Looks like the Macan is sliding right, 718 and Cayenne at risk of product launch delays.
“Rather worryingly, the automaker warns in the prospectus that since the E3 1.2 software platform is still under active development, "a risk remains that the Group will not achieve its existing cycle plan for new vehicles on schedule, in particular BEV models of the 718 and Cayenne."

Drifting
"I got mine so", so IMO digital touch screen it up! Add a turbo, fwd biased awd system, and throw a hybrid motor in there too. Even add some 300lb massaging seats and a cvt transmission while you're at it.

This delay in the Macan EV from the "Start production in the end of 2022" to "deliveries begin in 2024" is not unexpected. And pushing back the introduction of the BEV 718 and Cayenne was also expected if you were paying close attention to Porsche's comments and news releases.
Thus it makes reasonable sense that Porsche will continue the current 718 platform thru Model Year 2025, with a minor refresh in Model Year 2026+ as they offer both ICE and BEV 718 models.

I got to know someone at my local porsche dealership and he told me recently that the Macan EV has been delayed. When I asked about the Cayman (I really want the GTS) he said he did not hear anything. This was about a month ago.
