My delivery included a factory tour as well which was really interesting. Derek did a great job leading the tour.

WTH, I thought it was on hold until May? Are you American?

I wonder if that's the reason. My delivery in October was canceled even though the car was finished except for the TPMS. However, my dealer had nine sets of TPMS, but they still wouldn't let me do ED.

Sorry to hear that. I know I was on pins and needles, worried mine would get cancelled. Even in the two days I was in Germany before the delivery happened.

I read somewhere on Rennlist that cars can be stored in Leipzig for up to a few months. Any chance you can delay your pick up?

I ended up diverting it to my dealer because I didn't want to do ED during the winter.

I contacted the US ED Delivery and the response this morning for my July 2022 for a 992 GT3 and it was "we are still paused and we'll reevaluate in January on a spring reopening".
So based on the email I received they are currently Closed for USA ED and will not know until January if they will be re-opened in the spring.

Yeah mine got cancelled a month or so ago and I got the same message. Now trying to get in the AtL PEC. Still have the tickets to Germany and a Taycan rental so at least I can pretend.

I noticed you have a 2-3 month window from production to pick up- I have a May 2022 build for my GT3 - Was hoping could pick it up in July- - Any info would be helpful.

I’m not an expert but from reading other posts on this forum I learned that if you choose Leipzig as your collection location there is much more flexibility in terms of them holding the car for a period of time before you pick it up.

Hopefully your dealer can put you in touch with the Euro delivery specialist at Porsche - I found that contact person was really helpful. If you happen to be Canadian DM me for the contact info I have.

I also had a great sales person who helped get me the best date possible.

Yeah, that was me that reported it, I was told so from the ED coordinator in Atlanta that there was a hard limit at Zuffenhausen (6 weeks IIRC) and at Leipzig there was much more room for storage so he could probably work a couple-three months. But all that is on top of 4-6 weeks that he told me was the minimum after production that it took to get the car registered with tourist tags, etc., so May delivery probably couldn't be picked up before June anyway. Strongly recommend you contact them directly for confirmation on all this, they are super helpful.

I hope this isn't to elementary but can someone explain the allocation advantage for EU delivery. I have heard it is good for USA dealers and opens up allocation some.

I would like to get a GT3 in Germany in the summer if that is possible. Any dealers you know doing that for reasonable ADM ($20-50K).

I hate to break it the news to you, but if you do not already have an allocation for the summer you most likely will not get one. The summer allocations were completed over a month ago. I know because I got a July build.
For your other question ED does give the dealer another allocation for a Porsche -- not a GT3 car.
