Here's a link to factory tour info: https://www.porsche.com/internationa.../factorytours/

In 2019 (pre-Covid), I was able to book a Zuffenhausen tour on very short notice (less than a week). I don't recall being asked to pay anything. When I booked the tour, I did mention that I had 4 Porsches. Not sure it helped, but it could not have hurt.

The availability of Zuffenhausen tours without taking delivery there is why I've always done EDs at Leipzig. The 45 minutes of track time with a pro in the right seat is priceless. Then you drive down to Stuttgart (about 4 hours) and take the tour.

For sure if you are looking for track time or some other unique reason to be in Leipzig that's perfect. But speaking of priceless - I find it priceless to take delivery in Werk 1, Porsche's first building in Zuffenhausen adjacent to Exclusive which obviously you can't do in Leipzig. Smack in the heart of Porsche where the 911 is built, surrounded by employees working and 911s driving to and from various areas. Take the VIP lunch (if still offered) in the building with an expansive overview of Porsche's campus. You can cross the street to Porsche Zentrum (very large Porsche owned dealership always with cool toys), walk the Porscheplatz area to see the brand new 911s/GT models en masse lined up outside waiting for shipment, visit the Porsche museum multiple times, and also see Benz Museum (a must)....even drive to Weissach to do a bit of spying (saw Taycan prototypes driving in the villages nearby in 2018)

Of course you could do all of these things from Leipzig by heading south, but I'll always choose Zuffenhausen for my EDs and kick start my epic adventure there...feel like it really sets the tone for the trip
Very grateful Porsche gives us these options, and even offers ED in general! YMMV

Default Well Said

As we say in France "chacun a son gout!" Or, in both Zuffenhausen and Leipzig: "jedem das Seine!"

Default Factory tour in Liepzig

I did European delivery for my GT3 last November in Leipzig and even though factory tours were “closed due to Covid” my brother and I were still given a tour. So maybe you’ll be surprised like we were!

Amazing to hear, thanks for sharing that info. Maybe a perk for Canadians or for people ordering vehicles...

Here's hoping!

I know they have said to allow 5 hours for the delivery.

At the rate COVID spread is happening, many will get it now (because of minimal or no restrictions/masks) and be over it by end of May. Leaving a lull in June. Haha...here's hoping on that too.

Nice! Shark Blue 992 GTS manual.

See you there!

PS: are you doing Leipzig or Zuffenhausen pickup?

Great! So I should be about 1 week out. This wait is killing me. Also I am not sure if this year factory is closed in July or August. In 2017 when I picked my 911 GTS the holiday was in July and pick up was in Leipzig on August 1st.
