He's right. I read that article prior to the season to prepare for my weeks in the Louts. Single greatest takeaway was:

To achieve maximum resolution in your force feedback, you should set the slider to 5.6 in-game for this car. This value has been calculated from telemetry data and is not a matter of opinion.
Reducing the FFB down to 5.6 from 16.7 took seconds off of my Spa time. I was fighting like crazy with the heavy inputs but this allowed me to tell what was important and what wasn't.

Read the write-up on the L79. This is going to be a fun challenging month.
I need practice. Should be there sunday.

just did a few laps in the L79 @ Zolder with the high downforce setup, not as tricky as I thought it would be but still keeps you on your toes.

I did a 1:27.1 with a 1:26.8 optimal, have fun destroying my times

Down to 1:25.703 in race trim (fuel for 20 laps) and 1:24.858 in Qualifying Trim (2 gals fuel)...

No one else was able to make it last night. If there's any interest in this thread by 5 PM EDT, I'll put up the regular 7:30 PM EDT Practice session.

Lotus_ZolderR.sto is a high front downforce, medium rear downforce setup with balanced camber/suspension, minimum ride height, firm FARB, medium RARB and 20 laps of fuel. Lotus_ZolderQ.sto is the same setup with 1 or 2 gallons of fuel.

I finally hit a 1:26.088 full race fuel last night in your setup Ed. Other than some personal brake bias adjustment its a great setup.

Reminder of the slightly modified format!

7:40pm EST: Practice for 60 minutes
8:40pm EST: Qualifying for 20 minutes
9:00pm EST: Race for 30 minutes

so, start 10 minutes later, end 10 minutes later, race 10 minutes longer

see everyone tonight!

Well, that was a total bust...

Four people joined, one dropped out after Practice and it looks like Chas got called away during Qualifying.

Just me and Jochen were there for the race round, and since I'm tired, I called it a night.

Hopefully a better turn out next week.

I couldn't complete a qualifying lap

that car/track combo threw me for a loop something fierce.

still, would have been a 3 car grid. Jochen ended up getting a jump start penalty so we bagged it anyway.

on to next week...

I'm furiously working on my freshly rebuild engine that's leaking oil. Trying to get it together for a shake down on the weekend. I'll be back next week for sure.

sweet, it's just not the same when someone isn't 3 seconds a lap faster than me
