You probably saw my comments in that thread, but that setup unfortunately is that fast. There really is no need for any aero on this track, but you do have to get used to it, and work up to it. Try starting out with the baseline set, and setting the bounds and rebounds on the HS dampers really high.
One lap of fuel at 2.9 is enough.
Set wing to 2 and keep the gurney, and give it a shot, until you feel like you've got the mechanical grip down. I think that every wing notch is worth about a second. The gurney even more, but then it gets really hairy. Especially around the "courage" curve.
I was able to break into the 18's with gurney at 10 and wing to 1.
It seems to me that this track is far more setup sensitive than any other track. Probably due to its length. Any small change you can make multiplies down the line.... assuming you keep the shiny side up.

The RUF Cup series is running a *race* on the Nord (now THAT has got to be a race of attrition!) I futzed around a little in a practice session last night and am able to run a LOT closer to the "top" in that series... I think the "key" is that it's a fixed setup series! Everyone is on the exact same set... and IMO the set they use feels pretty good to me, well balanced.

Yeah, setup is definitely key there.

Overall though I think most finished, but can't seem to be able to check the stats. Was a pretty intense race and 4 laps had me pooped.

Hopefully HTC will undercut them and drive the prices down a little bit. I'll have to find one to try and see if it's worth upgrading from the DK2. Of course they could kill support for the DK2 and force me to shop for a new device too.

I'm stuck in a meeting tonight, so if someone else wants to host that would be cool.
We should also consider whether we want to change our car at some point. The RUF track is going to be retired next season from official races so our supply of setups might dwindle too. Thoughts?

I was hoping it would be 399, expecting 499, but shocked at 599. Palmer said it would be "in the ballpark of 350" and 599 is definitely not in that ballpark.
I'm expecting a $600 computer upgrade WITHOUT the cost of the Rift (i7-6700k, new mobo, new ram to go along with it). If the Rift sold for DK2 price, then the total investment would've been $950. So really, with the new Rift pricing, the total investment goes from $950 to $1200.
Ya know, I've said that the DK2 was worth double the price I paid for it. I still feel that way - it's an impressive piece of tech. I guess I just didn't think that Oculus was listening when I said it!
So I've jumped in at 599. It stings... but I'm in. Well... hopefully. I couldn't get my order in (site was all F'ed up), tried a couple different credit cards AND my PayPal account and none worked. Logged out, logged back in, tried again, and got "Only 1 item per customer". Never got an order confirmation email, etc. I found a record in my Order History that shows the CV1, but no pricing is listed... every where that would have $$$ it's dashes ("--"). I emailed their support team - hopefully that makes it in.
To be safe, I tried placing another order (using my work email address) and that went through fine - but it took me so long, it's a May ship date. So I figure, once support gets back to me and they confirm the first order I placed is legit, I'll cancel the later order.
