The transponders came in to the local racing club, so I had to go pick one up and sit in for a meeting about class changes for next year. I would have preferred to be racing with you guys though!
I did kind of sneak in there Chris, but was a little fast and couldn't hold my line. I slid outside, and Stephan nicked my rear bumper, and I lost it.
It is so hard to start in the middle of the pack and make it through the first lap. I'm not whining, just saying I'm motivated to qualify better.
For the record, I just watched the replay and I didn't touch you Chris did though. I was 20 feet behind Chris when you went off. I've had my share of hitting people but this time I was pretty sure I didn't hit anyone that's why I checked.
I got down to a clean 2:09 territory at RA, but still trailing most of the pack by at least 3 to 4 seconds. Using Seans setup with a couple of tweaks that got me a second or so better. Next practice I will try different gears in some corners, etc. I think 2:08 might be my best time I can achieve clean with no dropped wheels that * a time.
Glenn if you can maintain a consistent 2:08-2:09 pace for the entire race - that would have put you around 4th at our last event at Road America. Average lap time (over the duration of the race) for P5 was a 2:11.892.
Consistency is WAY more important than outright speed in this league. Smooth and steady and let attrition take care of the rest
