The bang is the engine "afterfire". It definitely has the volume turned up too much. I also struggled with the BMW for a while last night. The track was really crowded, but I got down to the 1:30's. It's fun to have a new challenge, so I did enjoy that. Once some reasonable setups start popping up, I think it will be less of an understeering beast. I'm not sure how I feel about the traction control. I don't like the way I drive when I know it's on, but I can be a bit faster with it. For cars like the C6.R it will be a life saver, but the BMW and RUF are pretty well hooked up. I drove most of my laps with the system off, but it will be interesting to see if I turn them back on tonight when it actually counts.

1:30 is for the short course they are running for the 24 heurs of Fun 2 for this week. Not the full course. I ran the same thing thus my times were similar.

I think they may have the Z4 dialed in to COTA since they were released together. However the updates on the Ruf GT3 and Mazda MX-5 didn't even get them close to being compatible.
I switched down to the MX-5 and had the same issues with handling that I had with the Ruf GT3 on a much slower easier car. I am convinced that there is issues with frame rate and car simulations on COTA.
I would urge a bunch of Rennlist Iracers to give the Ruf GT3 Track cars a try on COTA and see what they believe. I would think that a Road America or any other setup should be able to get you around the track at 8/10's without major understeer or oversteer.

I'd like to have a set-up for the C6R. Anybody has one that would not mind sharing with me? I bought the Falcon last week, tried for half a lap, then crashed, another half a lap then crashed and so on... So I wanted to buy the corvette but before doing so, I'd like to make sure someone can send me a set-up... The thing is that it's much more fun to do more than 2 turns and ceash, you know...
I'd appreciate a lot...

I have a C6.R setup from Daytona that I could send you. I imagine the TCS has improved the corner exit that I was struggling with.
After our race tonight I'll spin a couple laps with the RUF at COTA and tell you what I find. I wasn't having any frame rate troubles with a full field and the BMW. The RUFs were running very comparable times with the Maclarens and BMWs last night.

Great race and a great straight up win by Tom. I'm going to have to adjust for the tire wear this season, I was losing the back all over the place at the end of the race. Jim and I had a great battle for a number of turns that will make for an excelent replay. It's so nice to be able to race with people I know will give racing room.

My race lasted about 10 seconds. I think somebody in front of Luke sort of checked up, then I had to check up hard, which caught somebody directly behind me. Road America is too big of a track to restart.

I took the RUF to COTA and didn't have any trouble with frame rates or weirdness. I wonder if the new 3-d crowds are causing you guys some trouble. Try turning down the crowd and grandstand detail and see if your frame rates come back.
