I'm seeing some talk of them flipping easily, rather humorous videos. I want to take the cup and track out and see how different they really are.
The RWD sounds like its well beyond my skill level right now.

Agreed. I ran some laps at the glenn and its a blast. Setup will be interesting.

I just spent some laps at the Glen in the track car with default Glen set up. Runs real nice. Change tire pressures or brake bias just a little and the car is totally different. It runs like a dream!

Awesome turnout guys! 9 on the grid with 7 finishing the race out, it looks like the 997 has gotten everyone's attention. I have a friend who should be joining us for our first race of 2014, probably another record turn out race on the horizon.
I'm still way behind the curve on times, but my goal of staying on the track is getting much easier. I lost concentration towards the end of the race but luckily I didn't do too much damage.

I have a ton of learning to do. I seen the setup area, but don't know how you load the shared setups, and what was up with the entry to the boot some times it was fine other times it was like someone drop oil all over it. Learned the important part to keep your nose clean as you spend a ton of time in the pits. Watched the last 5min of qualifying and I keep see guys in and out of the pits, assume you are tweaking the setup. Also while sitting in the pits watching during the race, seen some guys come in and go out, you changing tires or something? Oh why do they even bother with the minimal required fixes, the car still isn't drivable :-) Didn't help that I spent last night learning the cup course and not the boot, I didn't see how I could even enable that for the personal test sessions.
Again a lot to learn, hopefully I will be better next time.

pmason, on the garage menu the right hand side you have iracing setups, my setups, shared setups. If someone shares a setup it will be under shared setups. I have been running baseline setups mostly, they seem to be very neutral and for a newbie like myself it seems to help.
Anyone drive the cup and the track versions of the 997 back to back? I took both out on Lime Rock and my first lap out with the track version i crushed my time with the cup version. If you get a chance take the track version out on the glen and see how the car feels compared to the cup.

Fun stuff! My Wednesday night schedule should be more open in the spring, so I plan to join you guys for more races in our next 'season'. Justin...you're a machine. Great driving.
On another note...since we have the new Ruf GT3 Cup clone, and promising potential for big turnouts, why not make this an actual series with points and whatnot when we start back up? We have plenty of time over the off-season to figure all the specifics out.
Anybody else up for something like that?

Definitely totally awesome!!!
Gonna try to get a few other friends in.
The Cup is tough to drive compared to the "Track".
The monster 700hp car is ridiculous. Took it for a few laps at Road America. Way way way more power than tire or brakes.

Good running last night. That was a blast. I honk I dreamt about driving the car all night.
There was some discussion about 1.5 yrs ago in having a points setup, but we didn't have a dedicated car. Now that we have the RUF this could be a very viable option if there is enough interest. We will need to put cinder blocks in Justin's car though
What do you guys think of running one of the other RUF cars next race and the last after that to see how we like them all as a group?
