I've run both track and cup, and the track seems a little easier to drive.

I plan on getting some seat time over the holiday, and my first new year's resolution is to finish a race on the track and not in the pits.

Ran both cars at Laguna last night. That's going to be an interesting race.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all!

Was there any consensus on the car for Laguna? Cup or Track?

I think that depends on how our final vote comes out. Or just allow both cars for practice and we can try both out on Sunday.

I did not know that, I will be there.

I would say go with the cup car.

Wow, filled up with 42 drivers.

Looks like fun! Hope to see some video of the race. I have a party I have to go to.

Alright I'm noticing some strange behavior with the RUF's... anybody else notice this?

So we did the C-Spec at Watkins on Weds night. That was the first RUF I drove in the sim. I think we all got a pretty good idea about the balance of the car... certainly took some learning to get used to. Felt like I imagine a 911 to feel when pushed. Car revved a little over 9,000rpm. Also noticed a big "gap" between 4th and 5th, and top end it did kinda feel like (someone else here said) it had a parachute behind it. But I got pretty accustomed to it.

Then when we were done, I jumped into another hosted session, this time at Daytona (night) with the "Track" version of the RUF. BIG difference. Car felt WAY easier to drive. No more big gap between 4th and 5th - ratios overall seemed a lot closer together. You could really push and abuse the car. Didn't rev as high though. Either 7500 or 8500. Also noticed the dash was a little different - the tach didn't go up as high (which made sense, with the lower rev limit).

So today, I had a few spare minutes... decided to jump on and play a little in some private testing sessions at Daytona. I selected the C-Spec from the menu. And when I got dropped in the car... I got the C-Spec rev limiter (9,000rpm) and dash... but the "Track" handling and gearing.

Tried another private session, this time at Sebring. Also deliberately selected the C-Spec. What I got was the C-spec dash, C-spec handling, C-spec gearing (big ratio gap 4th/5th).... but an 8,000rpm rev limiter.

Anybody else run into this?

I found a thread for "wrong dash" in the forums... but somebody is telling me that I can't possibly have different handling.... I think most of us are aware of how "distinctive" the C-spec felt on Weds.

I can't remember which version I was setting up for the Glen, but I changed just tire pressures, minimally, and the car was almost impossible to drive. Also, when I logged on tonight, there was an update I needed to do.

I think they are still tweaking the cars and learning from what they see.

Just my humble opinion.

You think right.

I keep shifting at 7200 rpm. Old habits die hard.

I had the same issue. I also ran the track car lastnight in a hosted session and the tach only went to 8k on the track car. It was really weird

Tonights practice session is set up with the cup car. I'd still rather run the track, but it seems that the majority want the cup. Hope to see you all at 7est.

I just hopped into the Track version for the first time...on my 2nd lap I put 2.5sec on my best lap in the C-spec. i thought the Track was supposed to be like a GT3 RS, and the C-Spec a Cup Car? Those lap times say I'm apparently wrong...

I do agree the Track is much easier (IMO not as exciting) to drive than C-Spec.

RWD is just plain crazy.
