While anticipating picking up my white E-Hybrid the store conveniently had a '23 and '24 parked next to each other. Someone may have mentioned this, but the power latch for the rear lid unfortunately picks up more dust and dirt being mounted low.
Best of all generations from an aesthetic/styling point of view:
9Y0.2 front SportDesign fascia, headlamps and taillamps
9Y0.1 full club leather interior with 18-way sport seats
958.2 rear SportDesign fascia - it wraps all the way around the tailpipes
955/957 is cool but the styling isn't as expressive and hasn't aged well into the 21st century imo.
I mentioned this in another thread but snapped this picture today that I think illustrates what I’m saying about the new rear skirt design looking cheap.
It looks cheap the way they cut into the painted rear bumper with the matte black plastic. It almost looks like a piece in the center broke off or was forgotten by the factory.
I also don’t love having to reach down so far to reach the rear door button.
Just my opinion: the 9Y0 design on my 2019 looks and works better.
Is there an option I could have checked off to avoid this?
Same concern for my (coming soon) 2024 sE Hybrid in Algarve Blue - I did not realize that this rear panel was a huge expanse of cheap looking non painted plastic

I haven’t found a solution yet. I’ve talked to two dealerships and they kind of shrug and tell me that they don’t let people order them like that anymore and that I should go to a body shop to see what my options are.
It’s my wife’s prize car after waiting 8 years with her 2016 Cayenne S and she complains about the rear bumper plastic once a week at least. Sad that her exciting purchase is a source of annoyance.
this is just the kind of thing you have to either get over or fix. probably isn’t worth getting rid of the car for. seems like a body shop could do the work to smooth the plastic and paint it. or a person could pursue trying to buy the design parts from porsche and have them painted.

You need to spec the Sport Design front fascia which gets rid of most of the plastic or the full Sport Design package which will get rid of all of the plastic. Attached is a photo of mine with the Sport Design front fascia specced
I got a quote from a body shop today but they’re having a hard time getting info from Porsche on what part to actually order to replace the lower facia. You’d think by now there would be some unfortunate 2024s in fender benders and the details would be out there.
The 2023 rear facia would cost me $4000 all-in. Hopefully the 2024 is the same ballpark price.
Pay $12 for a 24 hour subscription to partslink24 and use a VIN from a car with a painted rear fascia. This will result in being able to find the part number for a painted rear fascia, or hopefully an unpainted (and paintable) rear fascia.
I do like the new front end as it is evolutionary of the 19-23. However I can live with small differentiations of the front end vs the regressionary minivan rear end and interior. Holy crap is it bad.
i get it. the 2023 does look nicer from the rear view. i do prefer the 2024 lights. even if a 2024 has the design package, the license plate placement in the 2023 location with the higher tailgate lift still seems more balanced too me, and more functional. i am 6' 2" so i have to bend down to open the tailgate. not the end of the world, but it is mildly annoying considering the gas filler so nice and high, an very convenient.
