Wash day! Love clean wheels.

Did a bit of deep clean on the inside of the wheel arches and wiped out the built-up dirt deep in the lip seals at the door bottoms. These are prime areas for winter salt to remain in place for years and do the nasty stuff that it does.

I keep a new 2023 Cayenne Coupe Thrbo in L.A. for when I go there for business. I drove it all week for work, washed it Friday since we were driving to one of the wineries in Santa Maria the next day. Drove it over 250 miles yesterday (Saturday) to the winery along with some beautiful back roads on Hwy 150 behind Santa Barbara and a back road from Vanderberg Air Force base to Lompoc. What a fantastic car. Given its spring time and I drove quite a few back roads the car got covered with dead bugs. So I washed it again late Saturday before parking it until my next visit. It was a small price to pay and was well worth the joy driving this car gave me. I’m somewhat new to Porsche and have to admit that I’m loving Porsche more and more.

I splurged on this because (and I sometimes buy stuff for the weirdest reasons) I wanted to upgrade my iPad pro and tim cook decided to be ridiculous and increase prices on the new pro by 40%.

At some point, we have to stand up and say no to that nonsense for it to stop.

After sorting out, detailing / protecting my '19 Cayenne, I took it on a road trip.
  • Boise to Richland WA.
  • Richland to Gig Harbor
  • Gig Harbor to Port Angeles
  • Port Angeles to Victoria BC (via the Coho ferry)
  • Back to Gig Harbor
  • Gig Harbor to Lake Chelan WA
  • Lake Chelan to Richland WA
  • Richland to Boise
Roughly 1,500 miles covered. No oil use. 26.2 MPG. Zero issues. Great car.

40k miles. Sorted out. Ceramic coated and ready to go.

Great place to stay in Gig Harbor. Right on the water.

Fairmont Empress - Victoria BC. Built n 1904. Beautiful property.

Victoria BC

Empress Hotel. They don't build them like this anymore.

Butchart Gardens. The Canadians have a gem in this place.

Back to the US via the Coho Black Ball ferry. 90 minute trip from Victoria to Port Angeles.

Lake Chelan WA. 3rd deepest lake in the US.

Richland WA. In the heart of Washington Columbia Valley wine country.

Removed front wheels and ceramic coated them inside and out. Changed exhaust tips. Will be changing out rear shocks in a couple of days.

Cleaned all leather and IP and door trim surfaces. Cleaned PCM screen with a dry microfiber.

Cleaned the inside windshield surface - most difficult job of them all for me, to avoid streaks!

Over the years, I've had the same frustration with cleaning the glass.

I've found that Matt (Obsessed Garage) has had some really good recommendations and techniques for car detailing. If you go to the 12:42m point in the video below, he shows his process to clean the interior glass. I have the products and tool and it works for me.
