What did you do with your cayenne today?

Four errors in total:
1) Airbag error
2) PSM (Porsche Stability Mgmt.) error
3) Drive system error
4) Steering system error
Steering system error is related to the need for steering angle sensor recalibration. The Drive system and PSM errosr are probably related to the disconnection of battery.
One additional issue is the Auto Start / Stop function is not working.
Assuming all of this will be cleared up with the coding at the dealership.

Successfully swapped out my non-heated steering wheel for a heated one. Original clock spring was replaced with the appropriate one that will enable the heating function.
The process took about 90 minutes. (I'm not the quickest at this stuff.)
The two most tedious aspects of the process were:
1) Figuring out how to disconnect the multi-function connector located at the inside bottom of the clock spring.
2) Properly aligning and fitting the steering column clamshell halves back together (By the end of it I was not feeling the love for those German engineers...)
Appointment with the local Porsche dealer this coming week to have it properly coded / enabled.
I hit it lucky finding this heated wheel on eBay. From a '22 Cayenne with a similar option set to my Cayenne. It's difficult to find these in nice condition. Again - very lucky timing.
Harness and connector for heating located at 8 O'Clock position.
New clock spring purchased from Delaware Porsche Parts. Numerous versions of these are available - you have to pick the proper one for your car based on your vehicle option set.
New heated wheel in place. Hopefully the coding process goes fine later in the week...

Steering wheel - $695
Clock Spring - $525.70 (Including shipping)
Dealer Coding - $230 (unless they run into difficulty - but they don't believe they will)
(I saved 3 hours labor doing the swap myself - $690 saved)
Total - $1,450.70

What lift is that you are using by the way and how high is your Cayenne raised? Looks like quiete a bit of space under there. Also short oil drain catch container too. If you don't mind sharing...am lookng at 4 post vs low and mid rise lifts so appreciate any help/pointers. Thanks in advance.
The lift is Twin Busch mobile lift and the lift height is 1m (3.3ft)
The mid-rise lift doesn’t need to drill any holes onto the ground. But you will be driving over the ramp if you want to park the car there. Not a big issue and can get used to.
4 post lift is good if you want to park an extra car underneath but it also requires you to drill holes on garage floor to bolt the posts. Although I’ve seen people putting 4000lb car on 4 post lifts which weren’t bolted onto the ground. I would not feel comfortable working underneath that at all.

I went a little crazy with the deviated stitching I must confess.

Did you do your own stitching?
I couldn’t get any options even (not that I had any budget left) for it with truffle brown 9y0. It would force you to select another leather
personally the brown leather stitching is blah , I’d like a chalk or similar

Vacuumed the front carpets.
Spent time underhood with the air filter assembly removed to inspect the engine valley for leaks from the oil filter housing gasket and oil-vapor separator - no leaks!
Looked at the vacuum valve and hose which controls the active water pump. The water pump seems like quite a project to remove/replace to avoid failed active shroud seal leaks which cause collateral damage to the vacuum system.
Re-secured the power steering column switch. It dislodged when I got the car 18 months ago, and I thought I secured it, but it became dislodged again. I re-secured it and hope it stays that way. If it doesn't, it means a piece of plastic has broken and in that case I would need a new piece of steering column trim or a new switch.

I often use the paddle shifters. That's why I decided to replace the standard paddles with the Weissach version. I replaced paddles and steering wheels many times in various Audi models, but the problem was that I now have MY2024 Cayenne Coupe Turbo e-Hybrid with InnoDrive (capacitive steering wheel) and I could not find any information on how this car would react to disconnecting the battery and removing the steering wheel. I also looked for advice on this forum but no one answered my questions. Additionally, at the moment I do not have any scanner that would work with the newest Cayenne and would allow me to delete potential errors in the car's systems.
However, I decided to take the risk and that's why I'm sharing my experience here. The procedure was as follows:
- The car key was beyond the reach of the car.
- I opened the front doors, left and right, and waited 20 minutes until all car systems went to sleep. One such indicator is when the door puddle lights go out.
- I disconnected the battery and then waited another 20 minutes for the modules capacitors to discharge.
- I removed the steering wheel and replaced the paddles. It is very simple and takes no more than 15 minutes.
- After reconnecting the battery, I tested all car systems.
In the summary: everything works fine, no errors and to my surprise none of the controllers lost memory. Even the windows, sunroof and TPMS did not require retraining. Personal settings have not been lost either. Everything works as before this retrofit. Of course except paddles which are definitely more fun to use.
PS. Probably due to the loss of power, so-called grey errors have been recorded in some controllers, but usually no one pays attention to them during car servicing.
I will clear them as soon as I find the scanner cooperating with 9Y0 /3.
