Agree that I would call roadside. Sorry for the situation. This LiFePO4 battery is rubbish. Please update us on the dealer response to warranty request if it goes in that direction.

Will do. They better not give me any trouble. Car is 1.5 years old CPO with 13500 miles. We bought it with 8400 miles and have driven 5100 ourselves. We drive it daily and have more than the "minimum" amount of miles that are listed in the manual. Everything was fine yesterday and we drove 40 miles. No warnings etc.

Okay the car started with a jumper pack. Now the question is, can I tell whether the battery is being charged by the alternator while the car is on? Reading 14.8 V at the terminals with a multimeter (which I assume is all alternator driven) and the display shows 13.0 V at idle and while driving.

It will work again just fine. My 2019 had the same issue two months ago and the dealer charged it overnight and it is working great since then

Mine had a message on the dash that indicated car would not start if turned off. That message did not go away after an hour of running. I took it to dealer, and turned it off. Car was completely dead. No dash lights, no noise when i tried to restart it. Sounds like you are in better shape

Okay I drove around for an hour then parked back in my garage, made sure to leave parking brake off, left plenty of space up front to access the hood. We will see if it starts in the morning. Now the question is do I leave it locked or unlocked? I always lock it but I'm worried that if I do and it dies again that I'll have a bigger problem. Does leaving it unlocked drain the battery more though?

The keyhole is located under the driver’s door handle. You have to pull the handle to expose the keyhole. You might want to try this a couple times before having to do it the first time in the dark.
Insert the key and turn to unlock the door. Then just pop the hood and boost your battery. When the battery awakens, be ready for the vehicle alarm sounding the horn. It is quite startling when in an enclosed space! Just press the unlock button on the key fob to disarm the alarm.
One more thing. If the battery is dead, you’ll need to push the Cayenne out of your garage to tow it. Did you remember to remove the orange parking lock tool from the spare tire and place it in the glove box? If your battery is dead, you can’t move the transmission out of park without this tool. Catch-22: You need battery power to pop the rear hatch to access the tool.
Although the transmission has a manual override, your electric parking brake DOES NOT. If your battery is dead, the only way to release the brake is to remove both rear wheels and manually turn the brake’s electric motors. Do yourself a favor — leave the brake off unless needed.

If your car battery (or key fob battery) is dead you can still unlock your Cayenne. To unlock the vehicle, first remove the physical key from the key fob. It fits quite tight in the fob. You may need a small coin or similar to help remove it.

Good reminder to put the transmission tool in a front storage compartment - under the front seats or in the glove box.

It is absolutely absurd that we have to worry about all of this and make preparations to use primitive methods just to get the vehicle out of a garage because one of these lousy batteries fails prematurely.
