Just goes to show that porsche has no idea why some last and some don’t. If they do, they haven’t shared it with the dealers. They just want this to age and go away.

With my significant help, my son has purchased 6 GT3 s in various forms and the current 1 is a GT3rs 2019................ Yes they are the greatest every day race car........ The Cayenne saved Porsche........... That is a fact... I will never buy another Cayenne again because of this............... My wife loves the car so in 5 years, I will just buy another extended warranty even if it costs 15k ........... Car currently has 22k so 50k and IT SHOULD STILL LOOK NEW WITH A FULL CLEAR BRA AND ceramic coating........ This is the same company who delivered DIESEL GATE.......................

I am pretty sure that they have a pretty good idea. I have hard time believing that they could not figure this out. It probably does not make sense for them financially to do anything more than necessary. They only act when they get sued or forced by the government. I think this is the industry standard. I guess I really can't blame them if that's the case. Me no likey still.

I am def. done with Cayenne. I was considering Carrera S in the future. I will have to go down the rabbit hole to find out what kind of problems Carrera's have and go from there. Otherwise, its off to Tesla and Elmer's glued bumper.

Sir with all due respect, would you consider diversifying your portfolio in the future and spreading the wealth? Loyalty is nothing these days. I love Porsche but so what? They don't love you back. You bought 6 of those babies, what did they do for you?

I recently picked up a 2012 CTT and the dealership confirmed the transfer case was replaced under warranty. Is there any benefit to change the TC oil with every engine oil change?

What Doug said. My takeaway was that this should be done as part of maintenance along with every or every other oil change since this is the only current available remedy.

The issue is water getting into the case due to the vent tube location being too low, by the "air scoop" that was meant to keep it cool.
AWD Honda CRV-s had a similar issue with driving through deep water, which contaminated the fluid.

Sounds great. I just change the fluid in the Transfer Case & Rear Diff yesterday. Took me 30 mins. So it definitely won't be too difficult to change the TC fluid with every other engine oil change.

I've had my CPO now for going on three years and 40K miles by me (42-ish when purchased). It's been a really good car. Not perfect...it flooded and the air/oil separator crapped the bed, but it's been very solid other than that. I have changed the transfer case oil and it was very clean looking. I'm wondering if the TC was changed under warranty before I bought it. I'd love to know that, or if it's still soldering along as it's supposed to. I do all of the maintenance I can and will be doing a tranny fluid change this weekend. Not sure if I count myself lucky or not.

Does anyone know if I can find out if the TC is original??

Has anyone been paid or rembursed yet? I responded to the letter and filled out the form several weeks ago.

Mike
