Damn now I’m rethinking getting it done! The $10-15k doesn’t do me much good if the fix frustrates me enough to go buy a new car—I’ll lose that in depreciation the moment I drive it out of the showroom. Also, the vehicle may be worth $5k more on the resale end some day if it’s not fixed. I really love this vehicle the way it is! Decisions, decisions.

Ditto, got the Porsche payment 3 days later and my Bosch check just appeared in my mailbox today three weeks later with no action on my part

I got the second fix and found it to be an improvement over the first fix. I had a warm up stumble with the first fix that is now gone with second fix. I'm OK with the fix and the $$ helped me pay for a new roof after Hurricane Irma.

I think "never fixed" > "original fixed" + $15k check

I think "never fixed" ~ "fixed fixed" + $15k check (not quite but close enough?)

So.... if you don't give a crap about the $15k, and plan to keep the CD forever... then don't fix it.
Perfect answer.

The fix to the fix is a 95% solution. I'm happy with it on my '15 and just put it on the '14. I did notice better performance on the way home, but it's the wife's car, so I haven't driven it much with the fix and it's been so long, to compare it to original... well, I just can't.

But all my performance complaints are pretty much gone now, so I'd take the $15K and fix to the fix. Before doing the latest update, I was planning my exit for a diesel Wrangler. Now I'm on the fence about how long to keep the CD, because it's fun to drive again. But I do love the Wrangler.... Now it's a dilemma where before it was how soon can I get a Jeep built.

I got all the up front money so for me it’s more like $4k and change so it makes the financial hit lower. Thanks for all the thoughts. Hopefully it’s helpful to others that haven’t done the fix yet.

Problem was never cold weather performance. It was always problems in hot weather.

Agreed. Also prospective buyers will like the dieselgate warranty at 95% of original OEM performance in a car that comes with it.

Once the extended warranty is up we will all be bypassing the emissions anyway

It is state/county specific. By passing emissions limit your resale in the future.

I still, on occasion, sense a lazy/dead throttle pedal but I'm really thinking it's likely more a transmission tune thing - because on occasion, I feel the same damned thing driving the wife's PDK Macan. I also realize I'm hyper-sensitive to it now. But it's still much much much improved from the original "fix" software.

You're in TX... gotta be a TX-based CD owning RL'er you can do a drive with to compare?
when you got the latest CD update, what else did they do?
fill up with Ad-blue I would assume?
anything else?

Well I had the latest update done in conjunction with an oil change service, if I remember correctly.

But it's not like there are freebies included with it or anything.

What are you talking about? I got a free Taycan brochure from my sales guy when I had the service performed. I couldn't get him to shut up about it, in fact.

I have over 155K mikes on my '14 CD. I was a hold out and I was not going to get any fix that compromised performance. Based on the positive reports from others I finally had the fix done a couple of weeks ago. I've since driven about 500 miles. I couldn't be happier that I had it done. As I said in a previous post, I haven't noticed any change in performance from its pre-fix state other than a slightly higher idle and holding 3rd gear longer longer until the engine warms up.

I'm happy with the fix. I'm happy knowing I'm now driving a vehicle that's emissions compliant. And I'm happy to have an unexpected $11,000+ in my bank account!
