Anyone already got the CD inspected? Or do inspections start in July? Just curious as to how smooth is the process

My appointment is on 7/11. I am probably the only one at this dealership.

Smooth so far, just doing what has been required. Nothing too challenging so far.

^^^ I meant the physical inspection. Email says to bring documents but when I made the appointment, there was nothing in the website to tell me what to bring besides the CD

I guess I will bring a copy of the title, the purchase invoice, the registration and my driver's license just to be on the safe side.

They seem to make this quite a process, the longer they can drag it out the less they will payout due to owners death or vehicles being totaled

After you have filled in the claim and had it accepted, its a bit scary when you trade it

You have to restart at section 8 and re register as an ex owner grrrr

I'm sure the 30 minute inspection appointment will be divided up like this:

Minute 1: service manager verifies physical presence of vehicle and confirms the VIN matches the paperwork

Minutes 2-30: Your Personal Porsche Sales Consultant will discuss the various ways you can spend your impending windfall settlement as a downpayment on a new Porsche vehicle. Just because you've been such a good customer, they'll be willing to bend the rules and actually apply the payment towards your purchase immediately if you are willing to close on a new vehicle today.

I started the claim process using my name and email. Turns out the registration has my wife's name on it (bought the damn thing 3.5 years ago and we have a bunch of cars under each of our names, who remembers that?) So they rejected my claim and I needed to start all over with her email and identification. That cost me a day or two. It took about 20 days for them to accept the documents, then the next day we had our offer letter. We completed it today and our inspection is set up for next week. I already spent the money on a new 911, so this was a win-win for me and Porsche.

So, how many of us have already spent the settlement money on something produced under the umbrella of the VW corporation?

Well, there's PJ and I...

I don't recall seeing the specs on your 911. PM me or post it here to jog my memory. I'm even deeper into the VW family- I leased a '17 Tiguan SE (old style) for daily use. German made, quiet, smooth, nice features like heated seats, Apple Car Play, room for 5. Not that big of a cargo carrier. Consumer reports hates it, so I knew it was the right car for me. My son has a '12 Jetta GLI which he loves. I was a huge BMW fan until they lost the recipe and needed to learn the hard way that Mercedes was absolutely not for me.

Yeah I may have miss spoke about the fix. Looks like they will just insure that you have the CD. I'm going to ask how they are going to compensate me for my wasted hour? they have my title, registration, and license. What else do they need? Why don't they come to my house to verify I have the car. They should call the registry and my insurance company to be sure I have the car. Why drive it all the way to the dealership.

Agree with someone else who mentioned it's probably a big sales pitch. My dealer just got the "package" yesterday and they have no clue what is happening at the transaction. Not much of a windfall when my 2014 CD listed at $84k and I'm getting about 9k in compensation. My VW TDI I almost got a full refund after 4 years of using it. And I did get a sales pitch about buying another one, but I had already bought a Accord.
