No, the 31st is the due date to the court for both sides to submit the agreed upon solution. The court will then review and plans to approve on the 14th.

The absence of a hearing date on the 14 could just be waiting for the submission. Hopefully....

VW filed the court documents
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-vo...-idUSKBN15G3NX

The settlement shows owners of 3.0 liter vehicles who opt for fixes will get compensation of between $7,000 and $16,000 from Volkswagen -- and the automaker will pay another $500 if the fix impacts a vehicle's performance. Owners who opt for a buyback will get $7,500 on top of the value of the vehicle.

Most 3.0 liter owners will receive $1,500 from Bosch.

Funny that VW's own press release fails to mention any figures, and also says it won't be approved until earliest May.

Anyone have any thoughts on what would determine where in that broad range our cars will fall? I would assume/hope that Porsche vehicles will be on the higher end of the compensation range?

The $500 for "loss of performance" seems crazy to me; shouldn't the $ amount be dependent upon the magnitude of the impact (e.g., every 1 mpg loss = $500, 10hp loss = $1000)?

Ok, things I do for you guys. This is the proposed compensation. I wonder how much I am going to be charged by Pacer:

If certified repair is timely available:

2013 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $9,729 ‐ $10,129
2014 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $10,514 ‐ $10,947
2014 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel Executive $11,052 ‐ $11,319
2015 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $11,133 ‐ $11,736
2016 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $10,891 ‐ $17,614

If certified repair is not timely available:
2013 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $60,454 ‐ $76,642 $16,179 ‐ $30,607
2014 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $67,604 ‐ $93,819 $16,004 ‐ $40,569
2014 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $72,304 ‐ $88,395 $16,079 ‐ $30,995 Executive
2015 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $75,651 ‐ $109,963 $17,400 ‐ $47,412
2016 Porsche Cayenne Utility 4D AWD 3.0L V6 T‐Diesel $74,144 ‐ $146,272 $15,621 ‐ $26,918

Note: the first number in the second group is the buyback number (that is, buyback or compensation). Also, these are numbers for actual owners. Lesses have different numbers.

Now, who among us spec'd a 2016 CD that would cost VW $146,000 to buy back? No wonder they really want to avoid a buyback.

Can you even spec out a diesel to $146k?

Wait... this is Porsche. Nevermind. Probably can.

At $146k I'd be looking at Turbos tho. That much on a diesel is nutso. Love mine but at that money no way... it'd be Turbo. Turbo torque > diesel torque... and fuel mileage? At $146k, I can afford to spend a few more bucks on fuel...

As I have a VW Touareg I will chime in. My understanding of the compensation for the second set of numbers (if the repair is not timely available) is if they cannot achieve a repair by a certain date, then they will have to buy the cars back. Then they will be penalized, which is why the buy back numbers are high.

So what would this all translate into for someone whom has or had a CD lease? I heard that 2.0 leasees received roughly 50% of comp compared to owners.

Good to finally start seeing some concrete numbers

Ouch. That thing took a $70k depreciation hit as soon as they signed the paperwork Hopefully they were planning for it to be a forever car...

At $146k I would would have still bought my $70k diesel and then picked up a Cayman to go with it

I remember ordering my 13 that my first pass of options was just over $100k. Don't know if $146k was actually possible back then, but you are right. It is Porsche...

I could definitely see a lease being a lower payout since IMO the impact to the buyer/owner is lower. You have a pre-negotiated buyout price... if the value on the CD tanks now, it's the dealer (or Porsche Financial) that loses since the residual would then be much higher than the actual value of the CD. Just turn it in and be done.

Interesting. That seems to contradict what the Reuters article (linked above) says on the buyback side. They're saying just $7500 above buyback price. I'm assuming, of course, that the second set of numbers in the bottom table are the cash on top of the buyback?

Also, would I be correct in saying the Bosch settlement is in addition to these numbers?
