I'm on "hold" with their online chat, to see what to do about this "no loan" thing.

Chat person says they've "seen this a lot today".

Guy on TDIClub also saw this. He said he shrugged it off and submitted anyways, then was prompted later for info on "any liens"...

I figure I'll try their support BEFORE submitting.

Their reply:

Thank you so much for holding. I was advised that is fine to continue with the claim. With your vehicle being a generation 2 your financial information is not needed at this time. If the Emissions compliant repair is not approved we will be able to update it at a later time.

I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to get the state registration mailing address to take. They put a notation in my profile. Called back a few minutes later about the owning/no loan issue. Was told two options are missing and all three should have active links. They are having the most browser problems with safari.

I'm on a Mac... but am using Chrome.

As for "proof of ownership" - I just submitted a scan of my insurance card (since the site said "insurance paperwork")... I imagine that'll be ok. Digging out the purchase paperwork is gonna be a pain.

My guess is they have all options via the VIN. So they know the MSRP of the car. According to the Docs, options over 1k are added in if not part of the clean retail price, My car has MSRP os 76k IIRC.

On documents needed, you only need to show you owned car on or after the dates listed. Several are acceptable. I used the current registration certificate that CA issues.
And a copy of your ID, both sides.

That sounds like the amount WITHOUT the BOSCH $1500.

[edit]OK, from the approved settlement:

Under the Bosch Settlement, each owner of an Eligible Vehicle in the 3.0-liter Settlement will receive an additional $1,500, and each lessee of an Eligible Vehicle in the 3.0-liter Settlement will receive an a dditional $1,200. (Dkt. No. 2838 at 15.) When the benefits under the Bosch and 3.0-liter settlements are combined, Class Members will be made whole for the harm they suffered from the defeat device scandal.

So add the $1500 to the payout figure they give you on the website.

Got that guys..my question tho is more whether this is intentional by VW? Why not offer the buyback for all affected customers and vehicles and let them chose? Is it cost of the vehicle? Cost of the fix? Yes the buy back would be more expensive but may gain them more good will perhaps.. No?

Let's say there would be an additional 60,000 vehicles to buy. And I'll be very conservative here and say the average buy back payout would be $75K (I suspect it would be higher, but like I said, being conservative). That would be an additional $4,500,000,000. That is, four and a half billion dollars.

That's why. Good will only goes so far... and I don't think it goes that far.

Pretty easy and straightforward process to do it online.
Thanks for the link, the amount VW will pay me is $10,518.24 for my 2016 Cayenne that I bought on 9/19/2015. The website mentioned something about Sept. 18, 2015, do I need to worry about anything if I bought it after 9/18/2015?

Ok, so I was wondering if that 8.4k included the Bosch part. 8.4+1.5=9.9 call it 10k. OK. Fine by me.

I believe the amount you currently see in the VWGoA site is the total amoun (not the half before the fix) without the Bosh settlement. Just add $1500 to it. Let me know if I am wrong
