I agree regarding the F-Pace interior...I looked at them and was very unimpressed. Cheap finishes, not all that comfortable. I ruled it out after a few minutes in the cab.

That's a damn shame. Jags used to have the best interiors you could get short of Bentleys and Rolls Royces. Damn Ford and those cursed S and X types. That was the beginning of the end of a once proud and refined brand

I purchased my CD with the intention of towing a car to the track. When I started looking at trailers, for anything other than an open trailer, I would be a lot better off with a decent sized pickup.

I'm using my CD to tow a 24 foot enclosed trailer with a 2700 lb car- about a total of 6100 lbs- and it is great. In fact, compared to a previous F150, it tows incredibly better.

Mountains, flats, cold and hot, the CD tows the car and trailer with great aplomb. I really prefer it to a pickup.

People are always amazed to see the Cayenne towing such a large trailer. But it does a really great job.

And to the topic at large, I hope to be able to keep the CD, instead of selling it back to Porsche. It really is a great truck.

Us too, which rules out a base Cayenne. Our GTS is fine. Never had a chance to tow with the CD. The V6 Cayenne S though has the same torque at slightly lower RPM than the CD so I'd imagine it's pretty good to. The main difference being mileage.

I have towed my Trailex inclosed trailer all over the country with my Cayenne. First with a Cayenne S (V 8) and for the last several years with our Cayenne Diesel. The diesel does a fantastic job and at 65-70 mph it still get 19 mpg hauling the trailer. Look into Trailex ,,, expensive but great trailers

Just looked up the stats on the FPace

Curb weight - 3,900 lbs. Not terrible.
180 HP / 318 ft-lbs.
8.2 seconds 0-60.
26 / 33 MPG.

So clearly tuned for economy...which isn't stellar.

Ugh.

I've seen a couple of F-Pace(s). Small looking and particularly undistinguished in basic trim. I suppose a test drive would be warranted, but not hopeful. Maybe the Levante is a good replacement, but would only lease a Maserati.

Anyone consider xc90 or v90 cross country?

On the F-Pace, I agree the diesel will likely not do the trick, as there's not nearly enough power. Everything I've read about the 35T gas model though, is positive. 340hp and close to that in torque, if I recall correctly.

I would. It's bigger than the Cayenne in that it has a usable 3rd row, but it's not all that much bigger outside. Drives very well, interior is quite nice. Very comfortable, tech is easy to use. A good people mover for sure.

A no-go if you're going to tow since it only has 4 cylinder engines. It also leases horribly. Doesn't drive like the Porsche either.

My money, unfortunately, would likely be on a Q7....

That supercharged V6 is a decent engine. not great. Same block as the 8 less two pistons, so it's a total boat anchor and fairly thirsty. But it sounds good and offers decent performance.

Yeah, the trailex is the only enclosed that was recommended to me, other than a custom 20", which is on the small side. Only problem is that I could get a super nice custom Intec for the same price.... and need a bigger tow vehicle.

Pretty much every dealer I called from any brand was very hesitant about towing an enclosed trailer due to wheelbase/weight issues with the CD (other than the trailx). Doesn't mean people do not do it.. I just know what was recommended.

I've been driving a 2017 Q7 since July and have put about 7000 miles but it doesn't drive nothing like a CD, if Porsche offers buyback on the CD, my money will probably be on a panamera or another cayenne.

Yeah, I believe you on that. I drove one for about 10 miles. It's nice, but it's no Cayenne.

My problem is, that I'd want the new gen Cayenne so timing would be tricky.
