Hello everyone. Lots of new users recently. Id like to state again as it may be lost in this thread somewhere, Please please please DO NOT REMOVE YOUR SAT/XM BOARD FROM THE PCM!!!! This will not solve anything and there is a HIGH chance of the pins inside the pcm pulling out, meaning you will not be able to reinstall the xm board. BEWARE!

This kind of issues does occur at times when the android auto or CarPlay is updated in some way and we have to match the fireware. Have you updated the firmware on your Mr12Volt system?

I had the same issue; tried re-pairing multiple times and it still did it. I had to remove and pair Mr12Volt and then the PCM for my phone to only use the PCM for calls. It has been good for a couple weeks so hopefully it last long term; it was really annoying when it was happening.

The design is for both to be paired. Mr12volt picks up calls then sends them to the pcm.

I have a somewhat related issue in picking up calls. If I answer the call by tapping on the screen, it takes a few seconds before the other person can hear me, but if I answer the call by using the steering wheel controls (ie, PCM directly), it's seamless and they can hear me right away.

I did not update the software on the mr. 12 volt.

Definitely should consider updating to the latest firmware. I'm on an old Samsung Galaxy S10+ (yeah i know), and it works perfectly fine! Firmware is current on both devices as well.

Just installed my mr12v kit onto my 2016 GTS with XM

If you purchase from Roman at ACS you will get the correct standoffs, however i ordered direct from mr12volt and so my standoffs were too short.


Regarding the standoff issue: i used the included standoff + 1 small washer. Initially the board interfered with the antenna connector on the xm board. All that was required was removal of the color coded plastic sleeve on the antenna connector and a shave down of the plastic connector locking tab with an exacto blade. The antenna connector still seated firmly and clicked in - the plastic sleeve is just for color coding. I placed a piece of kapton tape over it as a belt+suspender approach.

The other issue Ive noticed is the sticky phone connection. The only way to drop the carplay connection is by locking the car. This is fairly annoying if you are working on/detailing the car (using phone for garage stereo)for example.

Question for the group: with two users/phones stored, is there a way to set a preference of whose phone connects first? My wife and I both drive the car.

Thanks Roman for the install in my 2013 911 Turbo (997.2) a few weeks ago!

It's so awesome having Carplay in the car. Everything has been working perfect. Mr12volt has been a game changer and love how everything looks totally stock. Just picked up a 2015 Cayenne Turbo (couldn't find a decent low mileage diesel) so I'll be needing another install soon.

Facing connection issues lately. Unit connects/works normally for the first couple of minutes and then fails saying 'start connecting carplay'. This is with latest iOS and firmware. anyone experiencing the same behavior?

un pair your phone and repair. this seems to be happening with newer carplay and android auto updates.
