There seem to be several version of x431 (V, +, ...). As the above picture shows, 23.82 (in that version) as with my v. 23.85 which distributor swears:
1) It does support 992 -> which it doesn't
2) When I insist that it doesn't they reply, their version does and I have another distributor's version.
Compared to PIWIS it's certainly easier though more restricted. As to software releases, it's the same mess.V. 38 doesn't work for sh*t but v. 37 seems to. V. 40.450 is supposed to and v. 40.600 is out. One step forward three steps back.

I did same thing and language was still messed up. After trying a few different versions, I gave up and returned. Waiting till they fix it permanently. Then I'll order another one, which I really do need.

If you go to the Software Update area, the versions listed for each vehicle should have an arrow next to them that you can tap, choose a different (previous) version, then "update" to that version. It acts like a normal update and downloads and installs the version you choose. I just used the process to back out of V23.85 and revert to V23.82 after seeing the last few comments.

I recently purchased a Launch X431 V Pro on Amazon right before reading about the latest update and containing German and chinese characters. I was reluctant to keep it, but went forward anyway with the software downloads (the launch comes to you with no software installed for any vehicle and you are unable to load prior versions). With the newest software update, i was able to perform all the coding i wanted albeit some of it needed translating. Using google translate was painless and very quick. I'm willing to work with the software quirks with the tradeoff of how powerful this tool is. Being able to make all of the coding changes in less than an hour was worth the price tag. The Launch comes with 2 years of free software updates, so hopefully in one of the future updates, they will get the language sorted.

For less, one can get the PIWIS III from Belauto at garageforum, especially if you already have a laptop-

No offense taken and it was worth every dollar spent. I just wanted others to know my experience. Most of the coding section is in English. Very minimal of it is in German and translating it was a piece of cake. I don't consider it broken if it did everything i bought it for.

I'm sure the developers will fix the issue... It is just software after all, and considering how often things we use daily get updated, it doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

Anyone get the latest to work or have the release notes mention 992s?

If you reach out to Launch directly (start with their Facebook page), and your x431 is under a maintenance plan, ask them to make 23.82 available to you.
I had 23.82, updated to 23.85, and lost the ability to downgrade to 23.82. After reaching out to Launch, they made a special download available to me labeled 23.86. When I run 23.86, it's actually 23.82.

Is it possible to disable the rear sunshade using the X431 tool? I just purchased a 2011 Cayenne base and the rear windows are both inoperable because of problems with the sun shade. I would be quite happy to have an operational window and no sunshade, which I would probably never use anyway. Thanks!
