Hi there,

Would it be possible to code center console buttons to do a different function?!
What I'd like to do is to covert the "hill decent control button" (the one next to ESC control) to "sport exhaust" and to convert "lock" button (the one next to hazard) into "hill descent control". If this is doable, then I will swap out physical buttons with appropriate icons.
P.S. my 2013 GTS has all the hradware needed for sport exhaust and it activates it in sport mode, but I'd like to be able to control sport exhast independently too.

Thanks,
Sam

I don't think so. Pretty sure they are hard coded. In fact.... when you get porsche sport exhaust (PSE) ASLLas an upgrade, they see what options you already have and give you buttons based on current features

To activate the compass you need to buy an activation code in the showroom and then you need to enter it into the PCM module in the function activation section

I have had a sport exhaust installed on my 911 cs convertible. After they installed it i wanted the buttons to be in the original order. They said they can program it however I want but did not want to take the risk of popping the button. I have popped it up and swapped it personally. So they are capable of programming the buttons

Awesome!! Thanks!,
By "they" I assume you mean porsche dealership? and the tool would be PIWIS?
I would definately wanna do that, I'm wondering if launch x431 would be able to do that or not!

Yes, the dealer. Later I acquired the x431 and never checked the possibility.

Default tpms module adaptation/coding question

I have replaced the tpms control module on my 2016 CD. New part came from dealer and per service manual it needs to be coded for the vehicle using piwis. I have a x431 pro elite and I can not see the tpms module when I connect. Can it be programmed with the x431 model I have or any other x431 model?
Also second question: with the same tool, I can not get to the oil filling function under dme>special function. Am i doing something wrong or is this a limitation of the x431 model I have?
Thanks in advance.

Where does one get a legit Launch 431? I have heard that if you buy from Amazon, those units are gray market and not supported (is that true??)? Also, there are several models. I am looking for the best bang for my buck on the 431 models.

I appreciate your input and guidance, but I have used the search function. While I have found a good many references to the 431, I haven't found an updated link for purchasing one, which model is the best bang for the buck or the legitimacy of one (either a Launch or Foxwell) purchased via Amazon.

i just bought this a month ago - it was $30 cheaper then - this seller (no affiliation) sells these on both amazon and ebay so look for the cheapest price - unit updated perfectly and i've used it to do some minor coding already

What is the parameter to code the cornering lights to LEDs? I can't seem to find it.

I might ask tech to help me out and code stuff using Porsche software, but its obviously gonna be extra and I am not sure tech is going to be in shop after my 5pm pickup.
And ps....I should have taken the car to dealer in the first place, that would sure save me time and money.....but who knew.....
I find myself in a similar situation having overwritten my default code and trying to set back correct to get rid of coding fault.

Would anyone with a 2015-16 Cayenne with the HID lights be able to read their default settings with a Launch?

In Headlight Central area, if you backup the code and then read the backup code in section Codiertabelle you should have these entries:

It is a 2015 Cayenne Diesel with HID lights, (I have cornering lights activated by turning the wheel, but no forward camera for auto high beam). Steel springs, no Air suspension. The lights look like this...

Should look like this...

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help.
