Well, I spent a fair amount of time playing with the Exclusiv shifter but no joy. And I knew the ebay seller would not take it back after my destructive discovery inside the mechanism.
So...I shipped it off to my buddy @lexart who spent the better part of a day on it and now has it installed in his eHybrid.
My *new* shifter will arrive tomorrow, courtesy of Suncoast Porsche. Once you hold that hunk of metal and leather in your shifting hand, you can't go back to stock.
The new one *should* take about five minutes to install, including unwrapping the package and opening the Athletic Brewing IPA.

a. Snip it as some recommend.
b. Replace it with metal using the part number in the post linked above.
c. Optionally: Try some different part numbers and customize your hour/minute hands. The hour should be a ~1.33mm - 1.35mm but no one has attempted to find a perfect fit for that one as of yet (to my knowledge).
Enjoy!
Love these shifters. Don't know why they all (or at least all turbo/gts models) didn't come with them from the factory. They somehow add an air of robustness to the whole interior. Speaking of interiors: time for some cleaning, buddy

To my defense, my mechanic had just spent a day clambering around inside installing the alcantara headliner, and I spent a lot of time trying to install my first Exclusive shifter.
I *do* need to show the Cayenne some love. It just got a good handwash...but I really need to clay bar it and apply polish... I became a clay bar convert after trying one a few years ago...
The interior is pretty good...you just got a shot of the dirty area...really...

I ordered new serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioner from Pelican. Ordered new wiper blades and transmission service kit from FCP. Ordered Ravenol from Blauparts. Once it all arrives, taking it to indy shop to have all of this taken care of.
Finally got an appointment with the local dealer to discuss some outstanding warranty items and they agreed to replace steering pump (and reservoir) as well as some sort of bushing that holds either the driveshaft/front differential in place.
I updated my PCM 3.1 from version 4.4 to 4.76 using an iso file I found on this site (only worked once I used Verbatim DVD-R, not Maxell) and can't really any major the difference. Perhaps more stable bluetooth connection (it always shows up vs. sometimes not connecting to the vehicle).
Oh and my iTrims storage bins finally arrived (very nice, but thought they'd hold more stuff).
Lastly, some Permatex 80050 RTV helped keep my wheel center caps in place at all times

Replaced the brake light switch sensor on the brake booster. No more blinky glow plug light. Installed Burmester center channel speaker which required my least favorite task; 'modifying' existing harness connectors because Bose and Burmester are different. Sounds the same. But wire cutters.
Found an '11 Panamera base one owner for 18.5, told myself my CD is still best car... Think I'm lying to myself.

Got too close to a rail/ramp at the bank trying to edge up next to the night drop. Dented in a little corner right underneath the driver fog light. Luckily, it's in the gray bottom skirt and not the painted bodywork, but still...

No, you're not lying to yourself, BUT--assuming you're stateside and don't have access to the Panamera S Diesel: if you are looking for something that is the best of both worlds, check out the BMW 335d with Sport/M-Sport Package. Simplified suspension (but good enough and easily modified/replaced with M3 components or other), Straight Six aluminum block twin-turbo Diesel engine that is WAY silkier than our VW V-6 paired with a strong ZF transmission (though no manual option), able to easily obtain nearly 600 lb-ft of rear-wheel tq and 45+mpg hwy with <$3,000 in modifications if that's your thing, good sport seats, etc.). It's the perfect pairing with your CD (ask me how I know? ) and--bonus--you'll never need to change any spark plugs on your DD's or (in many states) get your emissions tested.
@NN. and others with experience: Has anyone compared the AliExpress versions to the Real Deal? Considering an Ali/Ebay version (in leather), but always prefer staying OEM. Tough to justify 300-400 for the Ali version if it isn't really close in quality to the OEM. Weight? Build Quality? etc? At the same time, it's tough to spend 400-700 on a shift ****, especially one that has a higher failure rate than I've seen on typical units.
Anyone have links to specific sellers/products that they feel were especially high quality?

Having in mind the above I shall say that the quality of exclusive **** from AliExpress is very high. Obviously I can compare it only with the ordinary shifter I had before so the weight is different, but the material (aluminium?), build quality, button mechanism work seem to me to be equal to the original ones. May be the locking "ring" on the new **** moves a bit harder but does the job perfectly.

My new to me 14' CD got a Liqui Moly engine flush and oil change yesterday and a new pair of BFG KO2 255/55-18 shoes today. Hopefully the first of many modest improvements towards future overlanding adventures. If you look closely you can spot the off-road package aluminum rails. She also has air / pasm, acc, pano roof... super excited to put some miles on this weekend.
BTW I had discount tire put new TPMS sensors from amazon on the rims and they work great. The CD picked up the sensors within in a few minutes of driving.

That's a very lovely color, if I do say so myself for a CD, although you have me at a far better setup. Great set of tires, too! Even have my favorite thing that everyone hated on the 957 (which is better I'm guessing with the 958) the panoramic moonroof. For my part, I finished the install on my 'dare Dave to buy the Aliexpress remote start kit' which... does just that. It only took me going in the wrong direction repeatedly, but eventually I got there.
