Yea. But...that red plastic shipping retainer was broken at the top.

Sorry to hear.

The one I've got from AliExpress two days ago is just fine.

I may just do that. Finally got the hose off, what a pain. I tried to get the fitting to come out, while at the same time trying to not cause any bends, but no luck. Perhaps pin and put JB on what exposed areas there are.

Will need a torch to heat and remove the fitting, Not sure about what your up against I had the coolant manifold off when I did my 997TT
Not looking forward to doing this again.
What year is your 958?

I've been debating about getting a carbon one and I think this convinced me; my main concern has been it will clash or look vastly different then the OEM carbon. It looks fairly close in the picture, is that your impression in person?

2013 with about 91k miles. If only I had the manifold off, I'd probably thread the hole and put a threaded fitting like the one method in the DIY. And yes, definitely do NOT want to do this again.

The pattern of the carbon on the shifter I had originally from the factory is smaller. But the new one looks harmoniously once installed.

Side by side comparison.

It seems to me the carbon pattern on the new one looks quite appropriate.

This too happened to me during hard braking while turning (freeway offramp)... thankfully my beverage holder held water... also thankfully, this didn't occur in the morning when the beverage holder held coffee.

I opted for a smaller beverage holder.

The original one looks more sporty and the carbon matches perfectly. The giant shifter looks more luxury and the carbon is laid out in a 45° orientation. All the other factory carbon looks to be laid out in a straight pattern.

Very correct. I wonder whether the original exclusive carbon shifter looks the same or it is a kind of "Chinese art".

Just now made a quick check. Seems there is no original exclusive shift **** with carbon finish, they are only in leather. So definitely Chinese art )))))))
