Thanks for posting, btw.
Perfect, I knew it was not my imagination that the 987 base felt doggy.

Stephen do you have a C5 plot to put in with those others?

C5 plots are on there, they're just above the max range shown.
(that's a joke, btw.)

Dyno plot * gearing on whatever seems like the most likely autocross tire size. I use dyno plots I find on the internet; whenever possible I try to find a few and pick the one that seems median, and I only use Dynojet plots to minimize dyno-to-dyno variation, but regardless I wouldn't hold these up as the indisputable truth.

Ask and ye shall receive:

Interesting that, as people on other forums have pointed out, the C5 doesn't have a huge acceleration advantage due to its ridiculous gearing.

Maybe not vs the Boxster at low speeds, but it's more powerful than the AP2 off the line, and from 40-50mph when C5 is still in first and everyone else is down to 2nd, holy crap!

I'd love to see a comparison of 987.1CS vs C5Z, too.

It is a bit misleading though, the C5 can't put most of that power down in 1st so no one runs them in 1st. Same problem the C6Z06 has.

Am I reading this wrong? It seems to indicate there is NO speed overlap for the 987 between 2nd and 3rd. Is that even possible?

If the top of 2nd was 88mph and there was time-warp jump forward, well obviously that would make total sense. But I don't understand the gap between ~66 and ~73 mph from top of 2nd to bottom of 3rd.

A)I wrote my letter, write yours.
B) it helps to show up to more than 0 events in a season.

A) I've written a few over the years, all resulted in the same canned reply.
B) I'm protesting SCCA's refusal to class the 986 in ST (along w/ everyone else, ha!)

What about DCSCC?

On a tangent:

For poops and giggles I did thrust charts for my car (G is just thrust / weight, right?) from a dynojet chart of a car similar to mine on 911chips.com, gearing info from gboxweb.com, and my actual car weight with me in it.

The lower lines are with my current 255/40-17, the upper are if the rumored 245/40-15 become reality. If I did it right, damn. That's eye opening.

No, it's not possible -- the speeds in all gears overlap since you can go zero mph in any gear when the engine's turning zero rpm.

In autocross everyone winds out their cars, so to keep the chart cleaner I don't bother plotting third gear thrust values until close to the top of second gear, but it looks like I accidentally started the third gear plot at too high a speed.

On non-PASM cars, PSM can be disabled by disconnecting the yaw sensor under the center console. Unfortunately, the yaw sensor is also one of the inputs to the PASM ECU, so it cannot be disabled on PASM cars without also disabling PASM, which will in turn set the shocks to their basic, default setting...

Good news: new SEB minutes state IMS replacement is legal in Street Class. Should be official in the next FastTrack:

#15097 Repair Method Comments
Add to Appendix F under Street Clarifications:
“Replacement of the failure-prone intermediate shaft (IMS) bearing on Porsche Boxsters with a similar part which serves the same purpose is compliant with the new 13.1 allowance for common-sense repairs.”

We discussed the IMS (due to that letter) and since we felt the common sense repair line being added for 2015 didn't cover the IMS explicitly, we recommended adding this and apparently the SEB agreed.
