I got them on eBay. A company called Eurowagens located in the UK. They have over 50k feedback, so not some fly by night seller or that sells knock offs. They are very thorough before they will actual ship them. They will ask for a picture of your connection to ensure whether you have a US spec or Euro as they are slightly different. Total with shipping and customs, about $2300 USD.
Nicely done! Have coils awaiting install for this winters project along with some other items when I drop the drivetrain. Rides much better right?
I took a chance on a set of used Border Racing coil overs with custom Swift springs. I’m actually really surprised at how well they ride. I have Ohlins on the M3 and had them on my Supra. I would put the ride quality up there with them. I don’t track the 911 so they work for me. One thing I want to upgrade are the camber plate. They are a bit noisy which is expected of the design.
Have been looking forward to this mod for quite some time. Haven't really had the chance to push it but just cruising on rough patches of pavement is not nearly as rough as before.
Replaced my PDK shifter with a custom painted one painted black with speed yellow inserts. Also updated my profile shot with a new *** shot of my 997 with the clear led tail lights I installed a few weeks ago. Updated *** shot with new clear LEDs!
She got a well needed alignment after I installed the coilovers. The shop also made me some GT2 style tips to go with the Speedtech exhaust. Definitely was missing out on sound and turbo response. Also flashed Cobb tune stage 1.
Went to move my car the other day, pushed the clutch in and it stuck to the floor. Checked the clutch reservoir - completely empty. No sign of leaking fluid whatsoever under the car, under the reservoir, or in the footwell.
I have the GT2 slave conversion (NO PENTOSIN) and thankfully I had an unopened can of ATE DOT4 brake fluid handy, so I grabbed a 7mm wrench, my Motive bleeder, catch bottle, and proceeded to bleed the clutch.
Cycled through the bleed process a few times, filled the reservoir to the top, removed the floor jack extensions that were wedging my clutch pedal down during the bleed process (one perk of power seats!), and proceeded to work the clutch pedal a few times. Perfectly stiff, drove the car to a nearby Advanced Auto Parts to pick up some Mobil1 Racing 4T 10w40 for an oil change on my motorcycle, and all is well.
The last time I bled my clutch was 5 years ago when this happened before, and in addition to the bleed I changed to a new master cylinder (fairly inexpensive at the time, I bet they're 3x the price now with the post-Covid gouging).
I have admittedly not been mindful of making sure my clutch fluid reservoir was topped up, so I've probably just been losing the fluid to evaporation. Even if it is a slow leak at the clutch slave, it's not worth messing with it if I can just top off the reservoir when I change the oil.
Two random pics for fun. One of the can of ATE I had (I was hoping it was the out-of-production Super Blue, but alas it was just the boring amber color), and another of an oil leak I've got on the left side of be motor. It's not bad enough to even drip so I really don't care about it on a 16 year old car.
BORING gold ATE. I was hoping it was an old can of the blue stuff Haven't even begun to look up what this leak could beis.
Been chasing water intrusion to the cabin. Cleaned all drains and still getting water in the cabin. It wasn’t til my son pointed out the glass sticking out and how much it moved in and out. Getting the windshield replaced today. Tech said the entire driver side is pretty much unglued.
