Got the dreaded P0021 code right at a year of ownership, car was running fine. didn't notice any loss of power or hesitations. Pulled my cam actuator solenoids to switch banks and see if the code followed and after pulling realized they look like the original with the old part # 997-105-303-72. Have two of the revised -73 parts incoming. Time to start stacking parts for the camshaft pinning project, my coolant pipes are already welded and my indy noted they were done really well so that is already taken care of. Plan on upgrading clutch and doing Evoms GT2 slave conversion, AMS intercoolers, plenum/GT2 TB, and potentially CSF radiators along with all the preventative maintenaince (Water pump, thermostat, new hoses/plastic fittings, coolant expansion tank, sharkwerks elbows). Hoping the solenoid is the immediate issue so I can buy myself some time to get everything together.

Please let me know if you manage to find a source for that kit, my car is going in for major work (transmission replacement, clutch, coolant pipes, etc.) in a couple weeks and I'd love to do that mod but they seem to have been on "backorder" forever.

I got the EvoMS kit, best thing I did for the car. The power assist accumulator setup was dreadful -- it seemed inconsistent and I'd periodically stall the car from a stop which was annoying as hell (and embarrassing).
What about the BBI Kit? I would just get that and then buy the GT2 pedal return spring, along with GT2 master cylinder (they say you can use the OEM Master cylinder but the seals will still deteriorate after the switch from Pentosin to DOT4 brake fluid).
If you can't find kits, you can go the stock GT2 route. If you don't want to mess with the PS Pump supply/return lines, you might be able to have the shop fabricate a union to join the two together (unless there is a pressure difference the slave generates before returning the fluid to the PS Reservoir) Then that might be easier said than done.
I ripped my plumbing out, plugged the input and output on the pump and de-coupled the rear pump half, so that's all gone.
You still need a fork, drill/tap for the new side, get a new line to the slave and steal the connector from the old line, but with the spring and a MC and a very, very, very thorough flush of the lines, you should be good to go.

Those have also been backordered for what seems like years. (Plus, to be honest, I've seen mixed reviews on them - not just the pentosin seal failures but people saying they just plain broke in a few months.) The best option would of course be to do an OEM GT2 conversion like lliejk suggested but I'm not sure if the shop will be up for drilling the 5-figure transmission I'm putting in and I'd probably be more comfortable with a fool-proof add-on kit like EvoMS's. They just seem to have been unavailable forever so I'm hoping kasperberry has somehow managed to find some obscure shop that has a few in stock.

I have not identified any available in stock but I did talk to EvoMS last week. They have been unavailable for the past few years because their manufacturing partner who they had been using for a decade + went under during pandemic. They have been working through identifying another manufacturer and have had some issues with manufacturing tolerances, etc over the last few runs. So working the pains of securing another reliable partner but sounds like they are close and he felt they should have some back in stock within the next 3-4 weeks. Sounded to me like still a bit of a work in progress but they are getting there.
just got my new solenoids back in, will get it out for a test drive this evening... fingers crossed
We used to sell these EVOMS kits, the last time we were successful in actually receiving one was in 2017. Since then, we have been unable to get any and had to refund a few customers. Non assist is a great improvement to the drivability of the 996TT. If the transmission is out, by all means, do it with the factory parts. That's what I did back in 2006 before any of these kits were available. I drove the car these OEM components for about 100,000 miles, then sold it a few years ago and it's still not broken. There are several threads with the required part numbers. It's an easy job if the trans. is out. Here's a picture of the 993 slave mounted.
I removed the aftermarket radio that was installed by the previous owner and replaced it with a radio delete option. I really like the way it came out.
Though I’ll need to tackle changing the color of the silver/grey section below it with all the buttons. That’s a problem for future me to deal with.
That carbon steering wheel....... man I need one in my life
Windshield washers stopped spraying. No low fluid light but I put almost an entire gallon of the Rain-X washer fluid I usually use in -- no difference, can't hear the pump trying to trigger either. Headlight washers working fine.
Ordered $10 pump off Amazon, Prime delivery next day, just installed it, all fixed.
New pump including the grommet (old grommet was OK but given the car is an '07... may as well replace it too):
Old pump - it might have been fine and could have just been clogged up, but considering the replacement pump was only $10, just tossed it once I saw the new pump was working.
Restored my seat belt buckle using Chemical Guys Tire & Trim Gel, plastic and trim restorer...it's the little things lol
After Before
may as well be a picture of my belt buckle. I read a little hack about using WD40 but it didn’t quite get it where I wanted it to be. I’ll give this a try 👍
I completed a very long journey to get the clear 997.2 tail lights. They're not available anywhere despite what any websites say. I finally sourced a set from overseas and they cleared customs. I got them today and threw them on and they look pretty good I must say!
I have the clear tail lights on my 997.2 but 2 of the LED's are out .
I would like to replace the faulty light but like you i am having trouble locating one.
Could you tell me where you sourced them from and at what cost also are they still available.
