I found the check strap on my gas cap had snapped, which is common. In looking for the new strap, I noticed a ‘sale’ on the aluminum look Porsche cap at Suncoast. I don’t like the fact that the cap is plastic, made to look like aluminum, but it’s better looking than stock and won’t cause a code.
it’s the little things.
Stock cap with snapped tether strap New cap! I like the look, but wish it was actually metal.
Purchased, picked up and installed something that I have always wanted for my car. To say that I’m excited about them would be a huge understatement.
On top of finding a set that was somewhat local to me, I also had the pleasure of devirginizing them, as they were BNIB never been used.
Lightweight carbon bucket seats.
This is single-handedly my favorite “mod” on this car... if it could even be considered one; as they carry OE PORSCHE part #’s.
They are so light! The interior of the car now feels and smells new. Riding down the road with them puts the driver in an optimal upright position and the seats really hold you in place. I will probably do the mod on the driver seat that angles the front upward to tilt the entire seat in a slightly more reclined position.
In terms of comfort, the factory 18 way adaptive seats take the cake. But these are by no means uncomfortable by any stretch.
Entry is not terrible. Standard palm on rocker panel to support your body as you slide in place makes for a no-bolster contact procedure.
I highly recommend these seats to anyone looking at getting them.
To those of you who haven't upgraded the headunit.., what are you waiting for?! Purchased for $280 on crutchfield, simple installation and so much better. Best bang for the buck. The rennline phone mount is spendy for what it is.. but couldn't do without it now!
Also installed my Raceseng stainless steel weighted **** @ 735 grams. Trying to figure out how to remove the stock shift **** was insane. Simple.. but insane The throws are so heavy.. feels great. Need to get used to it though lol
can you share the trim kit? it appears to match ac and other center stack color.
Yep.. what NSXavier said. I got mine through crutchfield. Try and install correctly the 1st time.. those clips are not so forgiving if you need to pull the deck out again
Awesome! I was tempted to just delete/install a shelf, but my wife requests that I upgrade to a modern display. Thanks for the info @NSXavier and @Seattle996
Did mine too and battery its turbo charged now, sounds so much better.
ya same here, i bought the car a year ago with a new battery and now with this new starter its starting up the way it should
just disappointed in bosch pos starter quality, i know the 05-08 997's got a bad batch but still my landcruiser has a starter that goes 1 to 2 million miles before you need to change them
