standard dealer trick ... mark as sold then re-list it a day or two later so it triggers all the new listing notifications. No one is paying $300k+ for these cars - they're all sitting waiting for the right sucker at this point.

IMO the only suckers are flippers and dealers. If you buy to keep and drive then these RS are worth every penny no matter the price.

Haven't followed the market for a while, what is a low options 07 GT3 (non RS) with clean history and 25k miles worth these days? I have driven mine maybe 500 miles each year the last 2-3 years thinking about selling it after 8 years of ownership
Depending on options and color I would say somewhere between $135-145K

These 997 GT cars are going to seem cheap at the current prices.

Exactly right. It's always the guys who are in the market to buy that are the most vocal about how overpriced everything is and constantly proclaim that prices will eventually tank. Unfortunately for them, they usually end up sitting on the side lines for years, looking for a deal that never comes, and miss out on all the joy that these cars bring to their owners. If money is truly a limiting factor for them then I understand, they simply have no choice and have to sit and hope prices come down. But if one can swing it, i'd rather risk "overpaying" and driving a GT3 then missing out on an experience in the hopes of one day scoring a better deal.

For better or worse the scud and this car have been tagged as top 5 collectible for its generation. So once the FU money guys aren’t idling on their 4% savings accounts anymore they will be gone imo.

I'm sure this post will go over like a lead balloon for some but that's OK - I love rustling the GT3 hype generator feathers whenever possible since critical discussion is certainly disliked around here. As for missing out on joy - there are lots of great cars out there to experience, many of which haven't been as inflated, and by the way, it really is just a car. One isn't missing out on life just because they don't own a GT3, although i can see how some in this forum would genuinely think that. Now let's carry on with the spectacle and keep that 997 GT3 hype spigot flowing!

Likely no one on this thread has a crystal ball. I don’t like commenting about how cars are gonna go up in value especially in the very strange unpredictable market we’re in where a lot of stuff is overinflated and set to burst.

I've convinced myself this car is like my house. It will go up, then down, then up, then down... but I don't really feel like living anywhere else so who cares.
