The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
i don't think that's entirely true. i paid $160K for my .2 and it's my daily driver and i'm in LA. so, i don't care about the miles. buying regular cars for value appreciation is a new thing. i bought mine as a keeper. if i put 5-6K miles a year on it as a daily driver i could drive it for 7 years every day and based on current pricing, i'd still sell it for like $100K with 60,000 miles... so if i am driving a GT3 for $60K over 7 years, i'm not mad. if you buy a car to park it because you're a collector and it's one of many, that's fine. if you buy a car and you're worried about value depreciation from driving it, you can't afford the car.
I bought my GT3 for just over 100k. I cant put miles on fast enough in order to have it maintain its value. No matter how hard I try, the darn thing just keeps appreciating. Hoping to do another 10k this year.

I bought my 7.2 for $120k in June 2021, put another $20k into it to make sure everything was how I wanted and would give me no issues.
27k miles when I bought it. Just cracked 43k today on a drive up PCH.
Sold my Model 3 daily after 5 months because I never used it. The GT3 is really an enjoyable machine from all angles.

I don't know the car but the name listed as the owner/president on the current ad is the same as the winning bidder two years ago on BaT. That link is below so you can compare the winning bidder name with the listed president of the company now selling it on Autotrader.

Been out of the loop for a little and saw the .1 with 6k miles that sold on BaT for 196k plus fees. I cannot believe it honestly; this market is kind of out of control. I guess the good thing is if I ever need a quick buck, I have quite an asset. But for now, I will go enjoy driving it because it is so damn good

Have never passed by a 997 GT car on the road out here (unless it was a PCA drive I was on). You never see them. I'd be interested to know the % of 997 GT3's that have been totaled out, exported, in bad accidents, turned into race cars etc. Given 10-15 years of time passing and many of these being used on track early in life, I wouldn't be surprised if 10% are not on the road anymore. Random guess.
Mileage has never been a major deterrent to me. As long as the car is well kept and maintained, mileage isn't really a worry. My .1 has 40k and while I have a few fun cars to rotate, I can easily see putting 5k/yr on this thing and not losing much if any money if/when i decide to sell it.
I just sold my NA1 NSX with 135k miles on it for pennies less than cars with half the miles. Why? because it is in incredible shape, i take care of it and have done every lick of maintenance you can do. That car is 31 years old, maintenance is much more important than a low ODO (of which many people just unplug...).
wow, $40k markup ^^^ .... just like that (assuming they bought at just slightly higher than the last bid,... but below the Reserve)
.... and also funny to read the BaT comments that talk of how the 4k mile frog sold for $290k earlier,... and that this pumpkin should have sold in this vicinity.
Grand Prix just keep piling on,.... until the shoe finally drops

It's wild out here. I went to ACH on Saturday and saw 3 997.1 GT3s- Guards Red and 2x white ones.

I see new owners here having fun as they should.
