The reason they do that is they don’t want bidders nickel and diming in very small increments as in an in person auction it would take forever to get through all the lots that need to be auctioned off as they are done one at a time. However in an online auction, the lots are not stacked so it doesn’t really matter if one lot takes a long time. Agreed they are throwing away bids because they are setting high bid incraments that are non negotiable in an online setting.

If they are being exported, they can be sitting in a location and being shipped out in bulk.
It will take time.

LOL they just called me "We see you were the second in line for this auction, the winner backed out. Are you interested in the vehicle at the $209k list price?"

Scammers
These are the people that ruin the auction platform integrity.

If they are being exported, you may never see the Carfax updated.

I have seen several Carfax reports show export to foreign countries.

With DMV Covid restrictions, it may take 3 months for title/registration updates, particularly when registering out-of-state transactions. So, it may take until November-January.

Not saying they wont. But they "may" not. Depends on how it's exported and country it's going to.

$150k is just for the buyers premium. Bonhams also collects around 10% from the sellers side as well, so they would collect nearly $300k.

Toy Barn bought this one from a guy who was apparently very uncooperative and wouldn’t allow a PPI to be done. They also bought a white .2 GT3 from the same seller. I assume they bought the two cars sight unseen and with very few questions asked. The white .2 GT3 was $120k, but can’t remember what the guy was asking for the gray .1 GT3 although I’m sure it was <$120k.

I didn’t realize that sellers owe an additional fee on top of the listing fee. I just thought the seller got the hammer price and the auction house got the buyers premium which once you ad those two together is the selling price. The selling price is what the buyer pays and in theory should be market value.

so far from reading the rennlist history… this new owner bought it 6 months ago for about $150k. The previous Texas owner had it for years and he reported here in the forum that commonly leaked oil… yet he only drove it 3000 miles.

It spent the beginning of its life as a press/track car.

Sellers say “minor damage” in the descriptions however carfax shows frame damage. It has 2 chips one on the wing and one on the front and bolster is shot and one member said the smog wasn’t in ready state, but that’s an easy fix.

Doug told many members to
”hard pass” in March because he has a ‘large’ file on it.

seems like an ok candidate for a pure track car, crappy thing is id still need to spend $ pinning the lines, replace the LSD etc.
Who would of thought that GP motors is trying to flip a storied car and will probably do everything possible to not reveal the cars history.
