All because it was not as popular as a color in 2007.
Hmmmm...I smell a song there
EDIT: If I was going to park one of these for eternity as it appears in this case, I'd do it with a full-leather car with PCCB. But that's me.

Now at $260k. I remember the days when you could pick one Green examples up in the lower $100k’s. This RS that was at San Francisco Sports Cars was for sale in 2012 and they were asking $120k 😔.

The funny thing is I like Orange on the .1 RS as much as I like the Green. I could never spend the extra $50k-$100k to get the Green over the Orange. Seems like you are just paying for exclusivity with the Green since there are 186 Orange cars in North America compared to 52 Green ones. I would just spend the extra money I saved buying an Orange one on a 987 Boxster Spyder.

Curios. How is a DME reflected when someone has a built engine? In example, my Sharkwerks 4.1 has a higher rev limit then stock. Would the DME reflects the higher rev range still as "over revs"?

The DME records based on the factory defined RPM ranges. Raising the rev limiter has no impact on that. If you raise your redline to 10K RPMs, the DME will still record range 1s at 9k RPM. This is why you often see Turbos with range 1 readings maxed out. It's very common to raise the redline on those cars when doing a tune, but the DME is still recoding all the ignitions in the original ranges. .

i recall the first time i tested my 997.2 Cup; did a money shift; was 10,300+ RPM's or something crazy. I recall James @ GMG citing that he'd never seem that before lololol. The car made a high pitch noise at that RPM. And amazingly was okay; drove for another 40+ hrs until the suggested rebuild and the tech who did the rebuild said engine parts looked great. lololol. My previous 7.2RS when i bought it had a few level 5's and it was fine too and Porsche even CPO'ed it. So long as was many hrs ago and no issues since should be okay. But I think collectors are fixating too much on DME reports. But I guess if Green is worth $100k; how much is a "clean" DME worth?

Cups vice Road Goers are different. The mass behind that high rpm “spin” and the forces behind will be different.
looking at 996 cups, it was very common to see 9800+.
Again, there are differences between the two that many don’t realize.
