The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

This vehicle has been discussed many times in the threads. The current owner has made some improvements from past conditions but it seems as though he may not be providing the full story. I had asked him about the A/C, as prior sales reported that the compressor had been removed. He assured me that the remainder of the A/C system was still intact (side from the compressor). I found out from a past shop that had worked on the vehicle that this was not the case and that EVERYTHING has been removed. The owner was blatantly dishonest with me as the shop had told him this was the case no more than 30 minutes before I asked him about it. That level of dishonesty makes me really wonder about his promises that he "never tracked the car"...

curious - are there many want to be buyers that actually expect to find 997 GT3s and GT3 RSs (track cars) that have not been tracked?
i mean, these were relatively obscure back then, so the majority were purchased to be tracked
seems that when "word got out" about Porsche track weapon, everyone that likes/loves P-cars wanted what was deemed "the best"
seems if one wanted a non-tracked GT car, there would be a lot more chances of finding a 991 (they built so many more, and sold many to people that do not track)
FWIW - I have only tracked fleet Porsches at PSDS @ Barber, but I've never expected that any of my purchases had not been tracked.

who knows,... years from now, when my lower back DDD, my neuropathy in my feet, & who knows what else (from my MotoX days, wiping out skiiing, ice hockey hits & trips to the hospital) will all catch up to me, and my wife & I may decide that this 997.2 GT3 is too rough for our street-touring - kinda sounds like it could happen & we might want to milk the last few years (in our 80's hopefully??), by moving to a 991. Full circle to folks that are "waiting" for a car similar to ours, ... well then the TIMING is everything. Multiply that times the number of owners out there, aging demographics, & whoaLA,.. buyer -meet- seller.
anyway,... just ramblings (prolly not the right place for it in this FS thread, so I apologize)

The adamant "never been tracked" just makes me roll my eyes. Half the time it's from a dealer too. Total trust erosion as most of these cars are well past their 1st owner so it would be impossible to know. One more reason PPI is so important, as well as "buying the seller" along with the car when you are shopping.

Yea I saw an ad from a dealer for a car with five owners from around the country and they claimed it had never been tracked. Like they've followed that car for 13 years.
I will let you guys throw apples at me by saying I'd take a garage queen that's been maintained properly over a car also maintained but whose life was spent mostly on the track. After doing track days or the driving schools I've been to you can tell the stress that it puts on any car. Though I will say I feel my GT3 is built for it more so than my F430 or even the Challenge Stradale. I had zero problems with the Fcars but the simplicity and build quality of the GT3 means I don't sweat stuff.

I would be leery of any gt3 or RS where the seller is adamant the car has "never been tracked" unless they are the original owner. Even so, who knows? The important thing is that the car has been professionally/routinely maintained. I'd rather buy a car that was tracked and used frequently over a garage queen that sits for periods of time not being used. Just my $.02.....

Black .2 GT3 with 10k miles on Pcarmarket. PCCB, adaptive sport seats, full leather, and has a Sharkwerks race exhaust (original exhaust included in the sale). $139k original MSRP.
This car even has a lot of rare extra leather options such as the door center panel and seats centers (normally Alcantara, but leather in this car) just to name a couple.

Never seen a GT3 specced liked this with all the leather. Any guesses on what this gets bid up to?
