What a seller is asking and what they actually get or will accept are two different things.
If you see something you like that is just priced too high (based on what you're comfortable paying) - sit on it and wait. If it sells, then it wasn't meant to be. If it doesn't sell, make an offer. What's the worst they could say?
I agree, you have to play the slow game. The hunt is the best part IMO why hurry and feel like to got taken.
I called the dealer and they said the car is a one-owner car but if you google the VIN it LOOKS like it was at least LISTED by O'gara at some point. I'd like to get an RS at some point....and will. It would have to strike me the right way.
They are about 30 minutes from me. It's not at the dealership, but at the warehouse of the owner, which I think is also in Brea. This brings up an old memory of a guy related to racing who has a warehouse of cars like this in Brea. I went there for a party like 17 years ago. Wonder if it's him. I wonder why they swapped rotors. Supposedly it was not tracked. I asked that too. The exhaust was swapped but they have the original.

Sounds like a good example if all checks out. Why would it have the cage and rotors changed but not tracked? Also, any paint work? Did he provide DME or just say it’s clean? Engine HP heads?
had someone (@ a P-car dealer) offer me $80K for my car today, said it would be worth $85K but I put in an aftermarket roll bar...
@Upscale Audio are you gonna check that car out in Brea???
I am tempted but truth be told while I like grey it's not my favorite. The car is not at the dealership and I would not waste their time to move it or bother the owner unless I was serious.
I'll probably get an RS but if I do I want it like this one....which by the way was listed for $139k at a dealer in San Francisco some time ago.

I was previously sold by O'gara as well as DC Motors in Anaheim. Notice the Schroth harness in the trunk FWIW. Here's the listing from DC DC Motors
The person that owns it now may have been told there was only one owner previous to him from what they said. Not that this means anything except when you want top dollar.

white on champaign gold is probably the best color combo on .2 RS close contender being xrussians grey on black.
Just to counterpoint a comment about selling on RL.
I have bought and sold multiple cars on many forums including a sale and purchase on RL. It has been very easy and an overall a good experience. I just make a point of talking to all potential buyers/sellers via phone conversation right away, that will eliminate a lot of tire kickers that are on the fence as they tend to not want to talk. I think in a conversation you get a good read on the potential buyer/seller and if they do not want to talk on the phone they are just going to waste your time. After initial conversation then we can text, email, pm..... Also, I will always do a video of current condition and where the car is stored in 15 second clips so easy to text - Just my $.02, but I have had good success.
Question for those more knowledgeable than me about options on these cars.
Car has buckets in it currently. On VIN decode it shows the car was optioned with:
P01 Adaptive Sport Seats with memory
P03 Sport Bucket Seats
342 Heated seats
Was it possible to order these cars with additional seat options?
The car has buckets in it currently, but you can see the heated seat button.
One would think it could be a typo, or the buckets were put in but seem odd that it would populate on the VIN decode.
