I reached out to some of the guys here looking on the forum but it was not what they were seeking hence I'm posting it here.

According to the seller who is the original owner, the car has 9900 miles and has never been tracked and is all original, including the tires which should be replaced. The only mods are Sharkwerks center delete and what he calls a "euro bumper" which I did not clarify with him. It's GT Silver w/ PCCB, but no leather. He wants $128k and is firm on the price and I think that's a fair price. Some people really want leather, some people don't want silver, but the condition is a plus.

I don't want to go through a lot of sending info back and forth with him so if you send me a PM about it be ready to do a private party purchase. Some banks won't let you do that. And the price is the price. He's out of town at another home and comes back to the car's location in Nebraska on May 27.

Vinanalytics

Seem like a great price for a sub 10k mile .2 with PCCBs and in a very desirable color. The other GT Silver car that was recently listed for $150k had over 20k miles and that car sold in days.

PS. "euro bumper" refers to the elimination of the bumperettes which are on each side of the license plate on US spec cars.

That car didn't sell for that. I think when the guy asked that much for it he got some sh*tty comments about the price being crazy high and marked it "sold" 'cause he was annoyed. Standard GT3's don't trade for that, and I think some of the insanity in RS's may be passing too.

I'll answer a couple things here: The seller states he had it dealer serviced, what that means I don't know. I would suspect that may mean changing fluids etc. The tires were never replaced because they still have tread. No mystery there, he's not boy-racer. He's an older dude from what I surmise. I have little bandwidth to answer questions myself, I'm trying to help him and fellow Rennlisters.

If you PM me just say you are ready willing and able. I mean that with sincerity because I'm not making money here, and I told him I would not send him a tire-kicker or dreamer. I'll reach out to him for permission to share his info to those that ask. But please try to understand where I'm coming from. I want to help my friends here because you guys have helped me.

I talked with the owner of the 150k GT silver car. He had an offer for trade in at a Porsche dealership for ~120k and that would guarantee him a 992 GT3 slot. Looks like he took it.(can't blame him either) He was a nice guy and a long time owner of his 997.2 GT3. But I don't believe it was worth the 150k personally.

that was probably the best route for the seller since he really desired a 992. That would have been great if someone on RL could have made a deal for it.

My understanding is that he did find a a private buyer but ran the sale through Porsche of Danbury. He essentially brought them the buyer but let them keep the price spread in exchange for the 992 allocation which to him was worth $20K, which is what another dealer wanted to charge for a 992 spot. Perhaps it is another Rennlister that ended up buying it. We'll see. Bottom line, I don't think the dealer actually has this car to sell.

Looks like you're right. Here is their response to my inquiry about price:

Thank you for contacting Danbury Porsche. My name is [ ] and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

The 911 that you inquired about is no longer available but we have other Certified Pre-Owned Porsches to choose from.

Yup. I learned this the hard way... sold my '06 E46 M3 not too long ago, very low mi bone stock, but it was Jet Black on black. I thought it would have done much better but turns out the color turned alot of people off despite being proper collector grade. Basically gave it away.

Strange too when you consider most new car lots are loaded with black, silver, and white being the most popular/easiest to sell. The only way to make black actually desirable is to nail the rest of the spec, IE interior color (GT3 excluded obviously), wheels, calipers, etc. Otherwise it seems people don't want to be bothered keeping it clean.

Common practice (required) that dealer post any cars they have for sale, even though they might have already had a buyer for it.

There is normal car buying consumers....and then Enthusiasts, who pretty much want Unique Colors, PTS, etc, and will run from Black for the most part.

PS. What were the details on your E46 M3 and price sold if you don’t mind me asking? You can PM me if you would like....

Eh, all the cars & coffee now is just who has a different color GT car. Only in Porsche land. I'll take the discount for the non-wanted black cars.

Absolutely stunning. When black is clean and polished, it's hard to beat.
