Ok, back to regular programming =)
Ok, back to regular programming =)
We had three and I actually sold all three of them gradually ... for around $33-$34k + ttl. Hilarious to see them bringing this kind of coin now.

Ironically two buyers turned it down at $150k because of concerns on the range 3 overrevs. Now everyone is tripping over themselves to try and buy it.
One buyer passed on our pumpkin because of a lack of full leather....but a no full leather car sells on BaT for $215k
Markets like this eliminate the "discerning" buyers and capture a wider audience of investors/speculators. I am not offering an opinion on one vs the other as we serve both in our client base, just offering a perspective on the market. Hence why mediocre/subpar cars that have been for sale for AGES are now disappearing from the market as well.

I must be missing it, but what is switched? I think the lever to access the rear compartment is on both sides of the seat. Then I notice the seat controls on the bottom of the seat are in the correct place on both seats and so are the airbags. I have been looking at it over and over and couldn't find anything wrong besides some very worn seats.
You are correct. My stock seats have been in storage for so long, that I have no idea what's what these days. However, it is funny how the back bolsters are worn on both sides. I've never seen that before.

I see, so color makes a fair bit of difference, as does PCCB vs Steel? I was stating that I think it would be closer to $225K than $165K purely based on what the BaT auctions have been bringing, but it's a pure guess on my part. Are the black cars less desirable overall? I think this one looks amazing. Also the Barrett Jackson car will actually go to live auction, which should be interesting.
I saw this happen to the 964 market years ago. These cars finally gained the respect they deserved and still do, The prices climbed for all 964's and those unwilling to pay up, were left chasing a climbing market. The prices for 964's have settled a bit, but not by much.

I think if you track. black car, they are going to show wear a lot faster and rock chips on black, well........

No problem! Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something obvious. Yeah, that is what I was originally looking at is how the back bolsters had wear on both sides. Very strange.

Just out of curiosity, I tried to find info on this car, and why it has been sitting so long. Is it just the location?

I don't know. It was an auction car and this one website says salvage but I don't see why Auction
Maybe it was just at a dealer auction, but the dealer doesn't give any kind of Carfax or any background at all.

I saw the vid on you guys at SC and your story. Really cool. Love to see how you've gain traction in this type of market. Well done.
Here is a pic after the little ones help me hand wash it. It's my 3rd one! Keep going back to these awesome machines.

Upon information and belief, this car being sold on consignment through Grand Prix Motors (https://www.grandprimotors.com/used/...ab139aa828.htm ; VIN WP0AC299X7S793198) is the same as the one in the track incident described here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...d-parts-2.html . It is not reflected on the Carfax, and it is not being disclosed to potential buyers. I've spoken with one of those buyers in relation to my own GT3 for sale, and I expect he will be posting his own account soon. I just wanted to get this information into the community ASAP. Watch out. Due one's diligence. I have no independent knowledge of this connection between the damage and this car. Just suggesting a very detailed PPI on this one! If true, this is one of the worst "stories" I've come across.

Ditto. I ask for undercarriage pics even with a PPI. Lots of places that wear from heavy track use. Many of these will have a front bumper cover respray if they've been driven much, unless they've had paint protection installed. Doesn't bother me much. But, any previous damage or paint touch up beyond that would throw up a red flag and should be reflected in the price. For me, it's pretty easy to take care of these things. I drive them about 2k a year due to so much workload and customer visits. Got the DD Raptor for that. Mine doesn't see track use. Too many other tools out there for that job that are less expensive and big fun.
