Well back in the day a guy softly backed into our Audi Q7 with the V12 body kit, sport pack or whatever they call it. Just knicked the bumper and broke a fog light grille. He gave me expired insurance and we Called his company right there. They took the claim and then 2 weeks later called me and said he wasn't covered and he renewed his insurance on the day of the accident hours after it occurred. Needless to say, I filed a police report and called my insurance. Never got the car fixed but it still showed up on the Carfax. Don't know if the police report triggered it or the insurance company that didn't even have to fix it triggered the report.

I have insurance for reason, to have them cover anything that happens. Why buy insurance only to have to pay for mishaps out of your pocket. As long as the incident is documented, I would have no issue picking ups. car with a. blem on the report.

Typically a damage report would be from an insurance claim, an accident would be from a police report.

IF you're coming from a 992 and haven't driven cars like the 997 gt3 (not modern at all compared to newer cars) I would strongly suggest a test drive or ride along. It's just whole another animal and some of those things are not appealing to all audiences.

and I sold the car in 2022 so I have no idea what it said. Just know that there was a ding on it. Had I known I would have read into the carfax report

YUP! Nothing is appealing about driving a 997 GT3 in the city.

I didn't think the 997 gt3 was too bad in the city but I also have a 996 cup car with a carbon triple disc lol

Not always the case. Some old lady backed into my wife’s BMW at a shopping center. There was no damage but the lady called the cops since she didn’t want to leave the “scene of an accident”. Police made a report of what happened. No insurance claim was filed since there was no damage. Carfax reports “minor damage”.

Well there ya go landila. Just get a harder car than the GT3, say an old fox bodied Mustang and the Gt3 will feel like the perfect daily. I'm not the one to ask about a GT3 as a daily as I float around town in a super smooth and quiet Etron.

So i did end up getting to do a test drive and felt a little bit more hooked than I wanted to. Didn't end up buying the car because we couldn't agree on a value, and I do love my GT3T. However I will keep looking it will have to be a good deal for me to trade down to a 14 year old car with no warranty while mine still has it for another five years.

Can't comment on a 997 GT3 daily but the 992 isn't nearly as bad as people say.

I would assume any 992 gt variant is way more comfortable than any GT car from the 997 era.

Personally, I don’t think I would trade a 992 Touring for a 997 any GT car. Yes, driving feel is so different. But you’ll miss the power, the comfort, the modern-ness. But I wouldn’t trade my car for a 992 Touring. I’d rather keep mine and add a Touring. They’re such different cars it would be worth having both. If you can swing both cars and have the space, do that.

Everyone is holding on to their pumpkins. Mine is staying till I get an offer I can't refuse.

Hasn't been that way lately. Maybe I can find some time in the near future. Was supposed to head out to the SGVBC run up to Newcombs this am, but it would be a late start and I'm not into driving up and seeing everyone drive down.
