Nice price on this Carrara White 997.2 GT3 in SF:

Price: 173,000
Mileage: 36,718
VIN: WP0AC2A93AS783177

https://www.sanfranciscosportscars.c...11-gt3-c-1653/

lots of owners but difficult to follow the CarFax

If I didn’t just pick up the .1, I’d be all over this

In my experience, alcantara wears very poorly with skin oils, but cleans up nicely

it seems that only Texas and i think Kentucky will let you retitle a salvage bonded or CoD title car if you can show the work was done to repair it, pass a safety inspection and then apply for a rebuilt title. but no way in hell would i spend 180k for a rebuilt title car

With some of the ask’s nowadays for RS’ they are about double that of a comparable GT3 for either .1 or .2. Then if you go from RS 3.8 to 4.0 it’s double again. The base GT3 is the best value as going from a Carrera S or GTS to a GT3 is massive. Going from a GT3 to an RS isn’t. It feels like pretty much the same car with some not super significant improvements.

agreed, crazy to pay 180k for a salvage title. However, I can’t help but think this car could been the steal of a lifetime for someone looking for a nice clean low mileage GT3, focused on driving and not resale. From the interior pics, you don’t see any staining such as you typically would from a car flooded for days in dirty inland flood waters. The fact that this car is running and for sale already also tells me there was likely no mechanical damage. It’s completely plausible that just enough water got in to fill the floor boards and fry the control module under the seat, which would have rendered the car immobile. Maybe all it took was drying of the carpets and few hundred bucks for a new module to get the car back to normal. For 88k, I would have taken a shot if I could have seen the car in person at Copart.

yea thats why I put the 4.0 suspension upgrade on my to-do list as I suspect that w/dundon + 4.0 suspension I should feel ‘close’ to the 4.0 experience in the higher ranges.

But as far as gt3 to RS i agree it’s mostly novelty… bucket seats are really nice just for driver fatigue. The LWFW does make rev matching easier but what ACTUALLY makes it easier is braking harder, damn throttle is a mile from the brake

Add the R&P and LWFW to a non-RS and you're pretty much there, plus it seems you don't need to worry about the intake flapper valve breaking and grenading your engine

I would also consider the Dundon D4 package should get the power to 500+ hp and plus you can take it all back to stock later if needed.

$30,000 for a Dundon D4 package that robs the car of valuable low end power. That's a big pass for me as I'm not driving my car at 10/10 anytime in my near or far future.
